I predict Salazar will get killed in the prison riot. Jack will then have to find Kyle, while hiding Salazar's death to his brother. And Kim will kill Chase at the end. And Tony will remain in the ER for the next two hours. Natch.

Now that Rupert is gone, there's no one left worthy of the title of Survivor. Jon is a slimy snake who isn't worth my hour of time. Same goes for those outcast losers who are making a mockery of the game (so much for outwit, outplay and outlast your fellow survivors, fair and square). As for Sandra, Christa, Tijiuana and Darrah, well, they've mostly been coasting, so I haven't invested much interest in them. It might have been interesting to see Sandra win, but she's on the chopping block. This series is OVER--bring on Survivor 8--All-Star Survivor!

OK that may be the most depressing night of television ever! Rupert gone Romano gone. I have felt so bummed after two of my favorite shows. Any spoilers out there to perk me up?

Rupert was a threat, so he was voted off. If you bluff playing poker, does that make you a bad person? Plus Rupert was all 'I am the best Survivor ever', blah, blah. I'm glad he's gone. And what was with his boo-hoo final words. It's not about acceptance, it's about winning the game. Jon realizes this much more than any other person, which is why I like him. It's not a contest to be the nicest person. It's about getting to the end by any means necessary.

Even though I knew Romano was gonna buy, thanks to Herc's spoilers earlier this year, I'm still saddened to see him go. Why couldn't Corday bag it? Or Abby? What nurse was it that got shrapnel lodged in her back? I thought it was Chunie, but it wasn't. Anyone know?

Rupert biting the big one proved to me the game isn't entirely fixed. If that show was rigged Rupert would've won. He had that energy and zeal that Richard hatch showed way back in the first game. He was the only decent person from this crop of Survivors. The rest essentially bore me. Same thing over on ER. Romano was one of the few remaining interesting people on the show. Abby has become tiresome. Weaver is mostly an afterthought. Carter gets cameo status. Kovac is all over the map (literally). And who cares about the new crop of ER residents. They do a decent job but the show really has lost any real appeal. All in all the death of Romano was a stunt. But as stunts go it wasn't bad. I watched. That says something for it.

He had no concept that it was a game, took everything as a personal affront, did nothing but talk about how great he was, and expected everyone to bow down and let him win. Ass. "MY DREAM IS OVER!!!! WAAAAAAAAH!" I wouldn't want that guy mentoring my troubled teen. "Cry! Cry if you don't get your way."

I don't care. He was a decent human being and the strongest one there. He made for great TV, unlike that ass Jon, who is everything Rob was last season, except funny, intelligent, likeable. Annoying horse-toothed jackass. People shouldn't give themselves their own nicknames anyway, present company excepted. I love Rupert's girls, but Sandra can't make it without him. Christa, though. She's strong. I hope she beats that lucky loser Burton and that coat-tail riding schmuck Jon in every immunity challenge from here on out. She's my only hope. Stop crying and kick some ass.

...but it was perfect that nobody knew where Romano was. I loved Romano, and I'm sad to see him go, but he was an asshole through and through to the very end. That was the point. When the episode was over and a couple people walked past the 'copter, they didn't even stop to see who the guy with the light was looking at as the copter was lifted, and that was the point. Romano, while a great character, was a horrible horrible person. This is why not a single person cared enough to find out if he was involved or if he survived. I'm sad to see him go, but you know he was given such a "fuck you" of a death on purpose. Great actor, great character, but honestly? The only death that worked. If Romano was gradually wussified and forced into a "victim" or "okay guy" slot, we woulda hated it. As it stands, he died an uncomromising, honest character who caught some bad (but karmically justified) luck.

AND NOW - HERE'S A SHOT OF NOAH ON HIS FILM SET TO CUT INTO ER!!! sigh, tune in next episode to discover Romano escaped in the manhole. Do people still watch survivor? Do people watch ER when there is not a main character killed off?...And thus, back to watching porn! - - - George, The 7th Chicken!!!!

I can see two Different endings for Romano... 1. He dives into the sewer Hits his head and thinks he's a Dancer then goes to audition for the NYC School of preforming arts while getting an autograph from a Boxer.... 2. He jumps into the sewer get mutated by Toxic waste and gets run over by a ambulance =)

Just to turn the tables, they should have had the rest of the staff find out about Romano's death immediately, then start cracking jokes about it. (Let's be honest, Romano would have done it if it were someone else.) Here's how it *should* have gone down: Right before he bites it, Corday says she's always been attracted to him and she wants to start dating. "You might even get lucky tonight!" she says. Everyone overhears this exchange and watches an elated Romano stumble out into the front, where the flaming helicopter crushes him. Everyone laughs and applauds. Then the incompetent red-haired med student sees an opportunity, so he goes out and blows his pot smoke into one of Romano's charred cavities and says, "That's what you get for messin' wit' Dr. Opie, bitch!" Then Mekhi Pfeiffer follows that with, "Yeah, I guess we know who got fired in the end, fool!"

After being knocked unconscious by his fall through the manhole Dr. Romano relives his repressed memories of New Hampshire and a certain hotel. He remembers his days as an out and proud New England queer, joins Weaver in forming the most pathetic Straight-Gay ER alliance, ever.

Don't get me wrong, ER's one of my favourite shows, but Romano's death was very poorly handled, I thought. Flaming debris starts raining down on me, I'd get my ass the hell out of the way. Does anyone know how unstable a helicopter becomes under changing wind conditions for sure? Also, I didn't like that the viewers weren't provided with any closure. No one even seemed to notice he was gone. I would've liked to see the other characters' reactions to the news. I just hope it doesn't become another Lucy situation where after two weeks, it's "Lucy? Who's that?"

I've been on this site for years as a reader, and for whatever reason I finally decided to get a password and become a poster. So let me take this opportunity to catch up -- now I too can talk about bombs in ribcages, that so and so has a beer and cheats on his wife, about sexy tomboy beanpoles, various possible Hulk Hogan roles (brother), that various trailers/movies will own me, and last, but certainly not least, that I can raise my head and proudly proclaim myself FRIST!! As for ER -- although I don't think they by any means had reached the end of what they could have done with Romano (and I don't mean make him nice -- God forbid), that was one of the best deaths I think I've seen on ER in a long time. Screw Rupert. If I ever end up on Survivor and don't win, I'm going to look at the camera and say, "It was a one in 30,000 chance to even get on this show, and then a one in 16 chance that I'd win. This is just the way it worked out. No big deal." Apparently everyone else was supposed to roll over and let him win. Rarely does the nice person win, and even when they do, they usually have to fudge their morals a bit on the way to the million. Hoooray for me!!

LA Law way back. Anyone remember the character of Rosalind Shays (played by Diana Muldaur, who also played Dr. Polanski in ST:TNG season 2)? She was totally the Romano character of the show, came in and made all the partners' lives hell, then, in the middle of heated disagreement with one of the senior partners, turns, enters the elevator, and, "aaahhhhhh...." splat. With no warning, she falls down an empty elevator shaft. I still remember the remark made afterwards, "the fall probably warmed her up a few degrees." OK, come to think of it, there were a lot less pyrotechnics than ER, and it was a lot more of a shock due to the me not looking for Internet spoilers back in 1991. Well, anyway, I rank that LA Law scene as one of the best TV deaths ever.
Did anyone else notice the scary similarities...
