The LW&C series will kick your ass! I didn't wanted to read them until i had the 28 volumes, but of course, as soon as i got the 1st one, i just couldn't resist. Really guys, try to get them all. One of the best comicbooks EVER. Kinda sad ending though :(, but i wouldn't have it any other way. Peace!

bal00 is right, Lone Wolf is one of the greatest bodies of comic work published. I have the entire run on my shelf and can't believe how good it is or the fact that it was the work of only two people. There's so much material! There's a real passion in all of the pages, not to mentioning the historical image it creates of feudal Japan. Anyway, check it out.

I agree with everyone. Lone Wolf is a masterpiece, in every level, from writing to art. Of all manga I have read, and I have read quite a bit, this is definitely on top 3 with Akira and anything by Tezuka. But i just learned. The Dark Horse edition is based on japanese edition that contained some censorship, and the size is smaller than the "definitive" edition that was released this year in Japan. Also, it does not keep the original reading direction, so all the in-panel lettering had to be retouched. Minor complains, ok, but still. Here in Spain is going to be released following this japanese ultimate edition so then I will check what kind od censorship were made into the edition that Dark Horse used as source.

Are these the same comics as the ones that had the Frank Miller cover in the late 80's early 90's? If so lucky me! That was the good times back then with the Viz comics: Area 88, Kamui, Xenon and LW&C(of course this was NOT Viz). Man am I fuckin old!
Yeah, frank MIller did some covers for LWC

I also picked up all of the Dark Horse reissues. Amazing! I'm diggin' the new DVDs of the film series being put out by animeigo as well. They only have the first two films out do far, but they are essential. Classic stuff.

No I don't hate Yu-Gi-Oh but thats because I've read the manga read the ones that have been translated into English in Shonen Jump they're funny at times and can be pretty evil. I particularly like the one where Yugi burns the escaped convict to death or when he electrucutes an entire gang of punks. Plus the stuff you see on American tv has been edited for content so it's suitable for children. In the american edit if the characters lost this one duel they would be trapped in the shadow realm but in the un-edited Japanese they plummeted to their deaths.
What's up with the live action EVANGELION film?

The one that WETA Digital is supposedly doing the effects for? I still think the announcement was most likely a joke / marketing gag, even with the artwork published in Newtype magazine. I mean a 100 million dollar live action EVANGELION film produced by Gainax, A.D. Vision and WETA? Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiight!

Thanks for the feedback! Excellent! I'll have to check out the new DVD's as well. I have only seen the first flick which was horribly dubbed and edited, sounds like the new ones are right on though.

The review posted really captures my thoughts after watching the first few chapters of this 26-episode series which just ended its run a few weeks ago. The small flying ships will remind most people of Phantom Menace style pod racers (only without engines). The flying sequences are just spactacularly beautiful and can help you over look most of the weak spots in the story. Also, after listening to the intro/outro for breaks at mid episode, my brother and I refer to this series as "Last-o Exile-o".
