I've seen the pilot...

...and lived to type about it. I wholeheartedly agree with Hacker. If the pilot is anything to base the series on, this will continue to rock. Whereas "Lucky" dropped the ball in a few areas, "Nip/Tuck" is right back up there with the audacity of "The Shield"....and in some places outdoes TS in terms of sheer twistedness. If for no other reason, tune in to see the kid who plays Walsh's son: he looks strikingly similar to what Michael Jackson has obviously been aiming for over the past 15 years. And in a show about plastic surgery no less. Weird.
Don't Forget, FX Broke Taboos With "SON OF THE BEACH"

Hi gang, Notch here. Remember, FX also broke new ground with the show "Son of the Beach." That show got away with so many things, you'd lose count inside of one scene. B.J. Cummings? B.J. is cleaning Notch's trailer hitch, and says "I'm polishing Notch's knob, he's got a Woody." (Nothing wrong there, Notch drives a real Woody, and she was polishing that hitch knob.) The show was a classic. Howard Stern Productions, a real class act. Notch out.

"Charmed" has fans in the same way "Charlie's Angels" had fans. Which means to say that there are alot of men out there with Neilsen boxes who are very serious about the prevention of prostate cancer. Seeing as how there was a research recently that said at least one ejaculation a day helps keep the prostate healthy.

Notch, I sincerely hope you are being sarcastic. That being said, I'll give this show a shot- though it does look most suited to 14-year-olds who can be scandalized basic cable-style.

Or the same stuff The Shield and Lucky uses? Works great for The Shield though.

i actually watched 'charmed' *dodge flame* two seasons ago, and i liked the guy who is now in 'nip/tuck'...i think he's the bad guy... as far as the detraction of sex scenes being beer commercial-esque...i say bring on the beer...i like those commercials... jar jar sucks? street cred? anyone?

There is always some spell where they have to dress up in "sexy" outfits. I guess the spells come from lazy writers and sleazy producers. Really, how the hell is that still on the air? And when will they have a french maid or cheerleader "spells"?
Seen the pilot too...

Everyone seems to be hung up on the graphic surgery scenes and sexual imagery. Yet, here's the thing-- it's all there to service the characters and the world. Yes, some of it's there for shock value. Of course it is. It's plastic surgery. It's sex. It's part of the context. But, the neat thing about this show, the component that everyone seems to be missing, is that the characters are so richly layered that surgery, sex, money, etc. are all just their surface layers. There's so much more going on beneath the skin. Pun intended. I hope the audience gets drawn into the characters and wonder how they'll change and grow, rather than simply get hung up on the jarring visuals. What catches me is that Nip/Tuck isn't just about the cosmetics of it all... it's what's underneath that's truly interesting, disturbing and moving. You may hate it, but give a chance.
Thanks...

I enjoyed it and enjoyed the peek at Julian's butt. I will be tuning in next week. Does FX get in trouble for the language and the realistic sex scenes? Who cares, I say bring it on.

I thought it was pretty sweet, and Damned Accurate. While Julian was hittin it from the back with fire in his eyes, the married guy was humping in the same place thinking of everything but the sex he was having. I get this allll the time from my female friends,, guys who can't.... who aren't good in bed lol, so they just lay there and pray for it to be over LOL so funny, yet accurate. I'm curious to see this Big change in his character, will he actually become good in bed? we'll see. Late

Just a note really, I loved Nip/Tuck so much in the first 10 minutes I had to tape the rerun so I could watch it a couple more times. I'm not saying it's perfect, my husband and I both thought Matt's freakishly Jacksonian face was odd, but the characters are really compelling. Without being too spoilery some scenes that stand out are of course the beginning dual sex scene, watching Sean and the mrs. in bed hubby and I were both wondering if the writers didn't have a sneak cam in our bedroom. That was a right on vision of sex after marriage if I ever did see one. This opposed to the snorting of cocaine off the model's ass, which was quite lickable in its own right, was just pure cable-only unadulterated wow factor. Try that ER. The camera work I think is what really excited me. The framing was just so good, when Christian walks into a room he owns it. It's the clothes, the attitude, the whole deal. The previews of the rest of the season just look phenomenal, can't wait to see it. If the plot twists and wrap ups are as fun and unpredictable as the pilot I'm in for the long haul. My Tuesday nights once again have a show to call home. Kisses
