Maybe that's why it was held off until tonight -- because it SUCKS? Why not air this during sweeps? I wouldn't put it past Lorne Michaels that, despite the fact he got all these funny people together, the whole result just isn't funny.

I loved that show...anyone remember their "magnum opus," a Rocky Horror Picture Show parody called the "Ronnie Horror Picture Show?" With Ronald Reagan in drag ala Tim Curry. Micheal Richards had a recurring character, Dick, that was a precursor of his Kramer character. And he also played the boy who played in the backyard and tortured his green army men and his sister's Barbies...I think he was called "Battleboy." Mark Blankfield was the insane drugstore owner who was wired on his own medicine "Take a PILL!" We've already mentioned the Ganja Gourmet "Do we eat it? No no no no, WE SMOKE IT.....SUCK....oh man, that's smooth peanut butter..." Andy Kaufman got into a fight with the cast. Bruce Mahler making raw chickens dance like puppets, and his Mexican DJ "And now, la musica de los Dead Kennedys." Melanie Chartoff was the HOTTEST fake "anchor person" with that velvet voice. Memorable guest hosts: Karen Allen, William Shatner. The biggest shame was that they did a series of Three Stooges sketches that were updated to include porn and drug use, and the Three Stooges estate sued them and forbid them from ever re-running those sketches because it hurt the "wholesome family image" of the Stooges. Which is strange because I remember at least two Three Stooges shorts that involved bootlegging booze and beer.
