You mean I actually am first on this thing. Too bad I'm suffering a sinus infection and not out having fun on this Saturday night. Maybe Eliza's show will tank being against Friends and Survivor and a Vampire Slayer will return to the lineup for Fall 2004.

There's another interview with Joss, this time from the ever Buffy respectful New York Times. It's in the form of a Q&A. The questions begin at: http://www.nytimes.com/2003/05 /16/readersopinions/16WHED.htm l

Man...what a penultimate way to end my loyal seven years... seeing the man himself. Maybe even getting to field a question. Sorry if I sound like a sucky fangirl, but hey, shut up.

or does Eliza's new show sound like that shithouse 7 days... And if the final's gonna be like LOTR, does that mean that Buffy will become evil at the last second and the evil dude will have to off the First accidentally or what? or is it gonna be that Sunnydale gets screwed over and Buffy can't feel at peace, so she goes into the West (to Hawaii or something)

C+ is my grade. Kattan had a funny exit, but Morgan's space skit was pathetic. Poor Dan Aykroyd, hosting a cruel shadow of his former springboard series. Can't this thing just DIE already?
Yep, that's 7 Days alright...

Which admittedly, I was a fan of. Was it appointment television? Nope. I liken it to The A-Team. A show that wasn't always big on the intellectualism, but let its characters be real fun. Anyway, I think Eliza's series will tank by mid-season. Which means she will either reconsider doing a Faith spin-off, or will languish in crappy b-movies for the rest of her days. I love her, but I think she'd have better luck with the Faith spin-off. It probably is a good thing that if it comes it'll be after at least a season, though. As much as I'd love another spin-off, I want it to be a good one, not something crapped out onto the air to try and grab viewers with name recognition *coughStarTrekcough* This gives 'em time to work on the best course of action.

S4 had good individual episodes but the main arch was a failure

Which was due to poor execution as much as anything. The intiative went from scary and interesting to stupid and ridiclous.Ethan Raynes potentialy interesting line about the magics being out of balance was wasted.######## And it was also the start of supreme bith Buffy who seemed to get more and more dislikable as the yrs went by instead of maturing #### Then there was RILEY Riley sucked up the screen time despite the fact he was as boring as hell. had no chemistry with Buffy and was made to look good at the expense of other charachters. The main problem was that despite Riley being a mistake Joss ego would not except that so kept fronting him AGAIN and AGAIN.Which merley made the wound more sore. Giles/Spike and Xander were reduced to 1 scene per week in which Giles gave exposition/ SPike said a witty line and Xander (with Anya) did a goofy sex joke.######################### ## Which also made the other main story of the scoobs supposedly splitting up then getting back together fail cause they were never on screen enough to show the audience so as Petrie admitted in an interview they just blamed it on Spike and thats why the last couple of episodes were a flunk.########### And Restless while great to look at was a waste of time with Joss raising story lines he had no intention of using.########### Overall S4 was a failure in the arch department when you compare it to Angel S1 which after a shaky start worked brilliantly.### But even shaky 4 is worth buying comapred to the travesty of the last 2 Buffy seasons. Which with the exception of DREW GODDARD Joss Whedons JOHN.B.GORDON (All US Civil WAR Buffs should know who that is)was a failure.

I am here in sunny Hollywood, California for the first time in my life and I can't wait for Tuesday to roll around for the Buffy Bash! Oh yeah, on the Walk Of Fame, if you stand on top of Burt Reynolds star long enough, eventually someone will come along and ask you what you've got against him. Hey someone tell me where a good place is to get a tatoo. Peace.

I couldn't give a flying funk what Dushku's new series is called, well actually that's a slight lie. But, the main thing is..she's not gonna vanish up her own backside like so many ohter 'major' characters do after their long running seasons have ended. I just pray that whatever she's in, it's given the chance to flourish and develop. more screen time for the Dush is less time spent watching other nonsense you Americans churn out for us to watch. We still have a few weeks left before the curtain comes down on Mr Pointy, but the pain is slowly growing inside me. owning five out of the current six dvd box sets available in the UK is one thing and the constant re-runs of the series from Series One onwards by Sky is excellent. But when you stop and realise that there's nothing more to look forward to is heartbreaking. What is it now? Seven years of growing to love these guys..hell i even bought some jars of Nescafe Gold Blend cos Tony Head told me to do so in his adverts!! And now the gang is breaking up. Of course,Dush will always be there when i close my eyes and Willow will be on the big screen in American Wedding. But we are gonna have to keep our fingers crossed and maybe have to wade through hours of dross to catch a glimpse of the others every now and then. But A Buffy movie? Sounds a good if not great idea, but we had that promise with "X-Files the movie" and what a let down that was..I think I need a lie down. I loved Buffy since the first time i saw it, and to know there are thousands of us outhere who are gonna feel a huge gaping holes in our lives very soon is horrifying. But we may be dead..but we're still pretty :)
I don't blame Eliza for not doing a Faith spin-off.

I mean, come on, she probably doesn't want to be typecast in that particular character. She's most likely wanting to diversify her acting resume, and even if "Tru Calling" (lemme guess: her character's name is Trudy but goes by the nick Tru -- jesus how contrived) bombs, it would be a separate credit to add, compared to yet another gig at playing Faith. She has to think long-term about her career, and I think she's doing the right thing for herself in this regard.

Tru Calling (Eliza's new show) up against Friends and Survivor?!? Wait a minute. I can't even act surprised. It's Fox for goodness sake! As for Still Life, it sounds a lil like Haunted and we all know how well that did but I love Marti's work so I'll watch it...for as long as it lasts anyway.

TenDeuChen - That show was called Early Edition, and that was EXACTLY what I was thinking when I read the description of the show. I thought it was just me! Of course, I had forgotten that the cat delivered the paper. How funny. I wish the best for Dushku, but I must admit I'm going to have to see this one to believe it. It doesn't sound very promising. But I'll give it a try since I like the actress, and let's be honest, "Buffy" sounded ridiculous but was actually a great show.
It's all about the ratings

While sad to see a cornerstone of many peoples' television lives end, I laugh at the notion someone put up here about ED's new show going up against Friends and Survivor. Friends limping? Depending on where you look Friends is number 2 or 3 for the season. Buffy is in the 140 range. In two episodes Friends and Survivor each outdraw an entire season of Buffy. That is not to state quality, just numbers of viewers. You can blame the net they are on or whatever, but Buffy never was a major draw. The show I most identify Buffy with was the much maligned Dawson's Creek which left the air with little fanfare this year. It left due to falling ratings and a sense that it had run its course. It also was tied with Buffy in the ratings. Two shows about teen angst growing into adult angst. The major difference is one featured the supernatural and one featured Katie Holmes. Not trying to provoke anything, just saying that though the show will be dearly missed by many here, it will not be missed by many overall. It was the ultimate definition of a cult show. A show with a hardcore base audience that could never break

Neat CG effects. Reminds me of TTT in a way. Episode starts slow but builds up to a climax that comes close to S3's finale. Buffy's finale words to Spike will either annoy or tear up the viewer, depending on how you prefer their relationship. Overall, I'm not disappointed with how this series has ended. Every season had its strengths and weaknesses, but, overall, this series has been very well-made season-after-season. Unlike X-Files, this will be a series I can watch again in repeats without thinking "Boy this great show totally went to shit in the end."

it aired up here in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada tonight, Monday the 19th of May at 8pm. As it turns out some dude on another talkback was right. I could go in depth but I won't/ I just want to say that buffy doesn't send Angel away, and the final scene with Spike when he says "No you don't but thanks for saying so." Was nice but it still didn't clear up any of the ambiguity of who Buffy will be with. The end of Anya was handled poorly in my opinion as well as all the SITs around the world thing. Overall the series finale was allright not great. It is not conclusive about anything and definitely leaves more room for story to be developed in movies or books or whatever. Anyone who doubts my authenticity of seeing the finale I will offer a few tidbits, Anya getting courage from thinking of all the baddies in comparison to bunnies, the jealousy of the vampires definitely suggests that we are not meant to come to conclusions about which vamp is better (my two cents says that because buffy let Spike use the Amulet instead of Angel when it meant possible death to me says a lot about who she wants to live more), Xander was still useless, Kennedy shoulda died, Wood's surprise was lame and lastly, I think Joss used Angel in the episode as a device to show that he listens or at least acknowledges us talkbackers. I mean that because Angel used the term Captain Peroxide when referring to Spike, and he called the Scythe the axe thingy and as before the scenes with Buffy and Angel, SPike and Buffy are too vague as to who she cares for more. "I ain't getting any older" *vanish* heh heh
Also saw the finale ...

I don't know what you guys are talking about. That was absolutely fantastic. I love how Spike was handled. Maybe the fact that I just finished watching this is effecting my ranking of it, but: 1. Once More, With Feeling 2. The Body 3. Hush 4. Innocence 5. Chosen Good show Joss, good show.
