Everybody just loosen your panties. I'm sure the cg will be just fine. If you can do better on your own, you'd be doing the movie yourself. Let the professionals do their thing and just try and enjoy the movie when it comes out. You people piss me off. Relax, dammit! That's an order!

...the Hulk. What do you fucks want? When I picture what the Hulk "looks" like in "real life," that's what he fucking looks like. What, do ACTUALLY want a bodybuilder in green skin paint? Jesus F. Christ. What the fuck does a man mutated by gamma rays REALLY look like then? "It doesn't look real." Fuck you, you don't like comic books if you say or write something like that. THE HULK'S A BIG FUCKING GREEN PISSED OFF MONSTER!!!! And that's what he looks like in the trailer. I give up. You want perfect, photo-realistic CGI? Go OD on crack, spend the next ten years in a coma, then go see a summer movie. If you're so preoccupied with finding faults with CGI rather than suspending your disbelief, then you've got problems and you shouldn't be watching movies. Don't you remember a time before the internet when you could enjoy a movie and not get in a talk-back and regurgitate the lame opinions of your friends. Remember, it's ok to admit it when you don't get it.

Let's see... if the man who directed "Eat Drink Man Woman," "Sense and Sensibility," and "The Ice Storm" decided to make a movie based on a comic book series he had little to no understanding about, what kind of movie would you expect? Certainly not one with a lot of non-stop action, nor with any kind of genuine sense of how to properly portray the spirit of the comic. So what if the Hulk looks kinda fake? To me, he looks an awful lot like his comic counterpart does... yeah, maybe he's a little more babyfaced, but he looks about right. Yeah, the origin story is way fucked up, and Hulk dogs are just plain absurd, but I'm sure that the emotional and psychological effect of the movie will be dead on. That's the ONLY thing Ang Lee has perfect sense about.

the same people bashing hulk's look are huge geeks who love lord of the rings, star wars, matrix, and/or spiderman. a lot of the cgi in those movies look completely fake (i expected to be awed by gollum, but wasn't: he didn't blend well into most of his scenes; the light on him was always much brighter than anything else; often he didn't move objects when he touched or stepped on them). most of the spiderman action scenes were straight out of a very jerky video game. and don't get me started on star wars or the matrix. the point is that cgi almost always looks fake. so what? aren't the story and how the cgi is used what matter? if you all are gonna bash shit based on a few cgi shots, then you probably shouldn't devote your lives to a bunch of overrated movies with very cgi work that looks much worse than the stuff we're seeing from the hulk.

Yes sir...The Hulk, one of Merry Marvel Comics greatest characters, on the big screen... The Hulk, is actually Stan the man Lee's inner Rage. Although its still in the trailer stages, the Hulk action figures are out. So no surprises about the look of the character... Let's hope that the CGI stuff is better than the Scorpion King. Or from the Mummy 2. When seeing the Rock at the end...That sucked... Hopefully sequels will be produced. Screw the cost...No way Marvel franchaises on X-men, Spider-man, and a late comic book Blade. The Hulk is a god-father of heavy hitters. Afterall, we all have a bit of the Hulk in all of us...

I haven't posted in talkback forever, but sometimes Knowles' BULLSHIT SPINNING is so goddamn condescending and pandering... THIS LOOKS NOTHING(repeat) *NOTHING* LIKE A JACK KIRBY DRAWING YOU AVI ARAD-SPINNING TWIT. It is Eric Bana's face stapled onto Brock Lesnar's body. Kirby features are angular and square - which is where the "square-jawed" superhero cliche comes from. Goddamn Knowles...no wonder you give reach-arounds to Michael Moore, you distort the truth as much as he does just to try and make a point.....and the only one who should be eating crow with this flick should be you, but I'm sure you'll find a way to shine this into another wonderful gem from no one else understood but you.

I'm sick of hearing you all bitch about how FAKE the hulk looks. Your doing nothing but bullshitting yourselves into low expectations and you believe the movie will suck cause he looks like Shrek? BOO FUCKING HOO! Grow up and look at the bigger picture. Film isn't about realism or FX. Its about telling a story in moving picture. If you think the Hulk looks fake, tuff shit. Lets see you do any better? Go on, out do what Dennis Muren has done. Get on your cheesy Bill Gates created led poisening box, and come up with a better way of making a realistic Hulk. Go on, satisfy your petty greed for more. BUT IF YOU CAN'T MAKE THIS THING LOOK MORE REALISTIC, IF YOU CAN'T OUT DO DENNIS MUREN, THEN SHUT THE FUCK UP AND FIND SOMETHING ELSE TO BITCH ABOUT! I think it looks good, I think it looks pretty real. Hell what'd you expect a 12 foot green guy to look like, Lou ferrigno? HELL NO! It looks a little cartoony because you'd only expect to see a 12 foot green guy IN a cartoon. It fine the way it is. Oh and by the way, Shrek was a pretty good film. Don't diss it cause an ugly green ogre can get a girl and you can't. This movie will kick ass either way, and you naysaying complainees will be left with piss stains in your pants with the whole world laughing their socks off at you. GOOD DAY.

You know, the original King Kong looked fake, Harryhausen's monsters looked fake. Christ, Gollum looked fake half the time. I could care less how real things look. What I care about is if the creature on screen has a personality, a soul, and all the above-mentioned characters have exactly that. Emmerich's and Devlin's Godzillla looked pretty real, but it had no personality, which is why people still prefer the cheesy guy in the suit. If the CGI Hulk gives a scary, moving and soulful performance, that's all that will matter.
Also, if they were going with the comics version, then why give

Hulk Vs. Superman
by Kid Z
Apr 13th, 2003

John Byrne already did it 20 years ago! He never drew it, it was just an idea he related in an interview in some long dead comic fan magazine whose title escapes my memory right now. It went something like this: Superman and Hulk are fighting and destroying greater and greater areas of property as their blows intensify. Everytime Supes hits Hulk, the Green Goliath grows angrier... and stronger. Everytime Hulk lands a punch on the Man of Steel, he says something like, "Thank goodness for being indestructible, I almost felt that last punch!" Finally, Hulk just hauls off and demolishes Supes with one of his patented, double-handed megapunches. The next page turn reaveals a 2-page spread of Superman blasting past the moon, the tiny, distant Earth in the background as the force of Hulk's punch sends him on his way out of the Solar System. The reeling Superman thinks only, "Great Krypton!"... then he turns around and fries the Hulk with his heat vision from orbit! (Note: This WAS the pre-Crisis, godlike Supes, after all.)

Nope, sorry! In THIS version, Bruce Banner suffers the ill effects of a dental x-ray gone horribly, horribly wrong as the evil "Lee Derr" (a major retooling of the comics' "Leader" character appearing in this film version as an evil Chinese dentist) deliberately neglects to drape a lead blanket over the hapless scientist, who had merely gone into the "Demoniacal Dentist's" office for a standard cleaning and 6-month checkup!
Incredible Hulk #14, Vol. 3

Incredible Hulk Vol. 3, issue #14, Dogs Of War Part I Summary: "A sinister top government agent named Ryker mobilizes satellites and an armed man to hunt down the green giant. He orders to have some GAMMA SPAWNED DOGS sent to eat Jade Jaws. The Hulk fights his way through the monster animals." I wish people would stop describing this concept as "absurd", or use it as an example of the movie being "not true to the comic". Does anyone here actually READ the Hulk? It's not a standout issue, but the idea was introduced in the comic! The concept was more than likely culled from the comic itself. This IS a movie based on a comic book, which implies some suspension of belief, in the same way any fantasy film would. And as far as the issue of size is concerned, c'mon fellas?! We've all seen the way various Hulk artists have exaggerated the sheer size and bulk of the Hulk throughout the years. Why do they do this? For the sake of drama, that's why. It's visually stunning. It IS more dramatic. Forget the Bios, this medium is about artistic expression, not facts and statistics??! Look at the cover of the following issue, #15 Dogs Of War Part II for a perfect example of this. Look at how tiny Angela Lipscombe (no, Betty was not Bruces only love interest) appears in the Hulks massive arms. I'll admit, I'm a little on the fance too about the basic "design" of the Hulk. His face, and general proportions. Simply because it's a little too conservitave for my taste. BUT, that said, I haven't seen him in motion enough to form a final opinion yet. And neither have ANY of us. So let's stop spewing geek-boy, meaningless banter about the things we know little about, or personal expectations we feel the film must conform too, and start thinking positive about what has the potential to be the best comic adaptation to hit the big screen yet. Head on over to www.hulklibrary.com If you're not as familiar with Hulk comic history as you thought you were, I suggest heading over to www.hulklibrary.com An infinite resource for the true Hulk freak.

I have full faith that Mr. Ang can pull off a cohesive story with some real suprises...he's proven that over and over again. I'm only worrying (and I wouldn't file this under knit-picking) that the digital rendering will come across as something that truley wont be beliveable. I know that it is in a comic book context, but I'm not gonna lower my standards according to that. We're paying more than ever for motion pictures to tell a story, and if this comes across as cheesy, we'll know it in the theater when we wince at the badness, sweating and picking our fingers hoping "nobody else noticed that" SINCE I have faith in Ang, LOTS of faith, I'm sure he wont gloss over that fact. Seeing how important it is.

But seriously funny. Supes would beat the crap out of Hulk first and THEN hit the bars, where batman would try to fix him up with Wonder Woman. ^_^ Myself, I'd rather NOT see a Hulk vs Superman movie--too unimaginative. Instead have them trade villans. Supes vs The Leader while Hulk takes on Lex Luthor. What a mess. Dumb as it is it would still be about 100% better then the disaster that will be the next WB Superman movie. I dread it's approach. Just let it die, WB! when I was a kid i got the chance to meet John Williams. What did I tell him? That the shadow effects of Jabba's skiffs in Return Of The Jedi looked "fake". He calmly explained that those where state of the art special effects and that was the best the effects guys could do. The moment I said it I regretted being so petty in the presence of such an interesting and accomplished man. And I realized that I actually liked the way the shadows looked, BECAUSE I was interested in effects in general and they may have looked "fake" but they also looked kinda cool. So should the rest of you. I have grown to LOVE the "fake" look of those shadows in ROTJ and in 15-20 years that's how you'll probably look at THE HULK. Hopefully you'll come to your senses and it'll be a lot sooner. Rant over.
