Good to hear that Tartakovsky and team are creating these Clone War shorts--last I heard the project "fell through" due to financial reasons. Samurai Jack has some brilliance to it, and their style and direction should lend themselves well to the cartoons. Curious what the art will be like...

If you've seen it on that Cartoon Cartoon show, you know what I'm talking about. It's kinda Johnny Bravo-ish, but the way the two main characters talk will have you thinking of those guys that chill at the food court at the mall.

Dammit, loads of other shows get new episodes, but no new X-Men Evolution? It's an awesome show, one of my faves, unlike a lot of one-shot cartoons it actually tells an overarcing story that is really cool. Sure, it plays fast & loose with establish X-Men canon, but then not being a fan of the comic books, I actually prefer this version of events.

They'll have all of us Nerds watching But loads of Cartoons and Commercials we'd never watch just to catch 2 to 3 minutes of a Star Wars Cartoon. I wish they had gone 30 minute episodes. On the Plus side, they have the guy that came up with Samurai Jack in charge. Samurai Jack is quite possibly the best animated series I have ever seen.

"What's New Scooby-Doo?, a 21st century update of the classic comedy-mystery series starring the crime-solving Great Dane and pals Shaggy, Velma, Daphne and Fred. What's New Scooby-Doo?, debuts on March 28." What's new? Well you're tired ass sure as hell isn't. Who watches this crap? Or is this gonna be a Sealab 2021 type show where they go for the weird, adult humor? Anyway, I've got the last 15 eps of DBZ on bootleg video, so the only think I give a rat's ass about is seeing the rest of Inu-yasha.

'Bout time we got some new Harvey Birdman. I've been watching the same 6 episodes for longer than I can possibly remember. Yes, Dabba Don is brilliant but Apache Chief's "Personal Injury" episode has gotten the most laughs (and quotes) from us. "Chief got his teepee back", "Apache Chief? Which one? 'He says that's his name.' .... Apache Chief, of course, send him in!"--------this show is brilliant. if you haven't seen it check it out. Wonder if they can possibly check it out. The last batch of episodes had some weak ones but the show still is Adult Swim's best show. The Bizarro episode and the Tinfins/Grizzlebee's episodes were hilarious. I like Aqua Teen and Birdman, but sealab is the best show they have. When that show is in top form there is no beating it.

...or do any of you actually get turned off when suits release the official press statements? It's like they use a software program to compose their announcement in the most annoyingly mundane and misguided way possible. Case in point. I used to work for the the Akron Beacon Journal. Not a prominent paper nationally, but for some reason, they inexplicably launched a "digital" paper that costs nine bucks a month to subscribe to. The only other papers available in this format are the L.A. Times, the N.Y. Times, The Washington Post, the Boston Globe, and one other that I can't remember. But it's a HUGE market. So as I was saying, they wanted me to try to sell it to "BrownsBackers" across the country, i.e. fanboys that don't have the intellectual capacity to comprehend art on any level. Fine. So I write a form letter that really tugs at the heartstrings of these guys (I am admittedly a pretty big pigskin fan myself) and I proofread it and submit it to my Dilbert-standard "superior". He HATES it, and writes some "professional", crackling dry piece of shit that has no pulse whatsoever. ***I*** talked to these people. I know how they can answer a phone defensively and with their "professional" demeanor until I say the word "Browns", and they you can literally hear the Pavlovian slobber hit the speakerphone. This happened repeatedly with various potential groups. Needless to say, I quit/got run, whichever you prefer (I have a new Dilbert job, so I haven't learned). But the point is that as much as I hate reading SOME of the "journalism" on this site, I UTTERLY LOATHE when these weasely George Costanza look-alikes get up at a podium and start spewing suitspeak. It just dirties the product perception, if you ask me. I guess that they HAVE TO do this from some arcane PROCEDURAL standpoint, or whatever, but it's just the biggest turnoff for the target audience. ***But what do you expect from the official announcement of yet another blow to the "Legend of the Myth" that was the Star Wars experience?*** There's no way that I'm going to try to "catch 'em all" when it comes to these irrelevant shorts. Look, THE SOONER WE GET THIS WRETCHED PREQUEL THING OVER WITH, THE BETTER. And don't get me started on the OT DVD fiasco. But anyways, I've got to go. Before I do, I've got an announcement: "We at Jollydwarf Inc. are pleased to announce that beginning in March, we will be accelerating our exciting, humorous, and insightful postings at "Ain't It Cool News". Every film aficianado, regardless of genre preferences, loves the timeless yet timely quips and metaphors that Jollydwarf contributes. We have also commissioned a quality control agency to augment the already exemplary musings of Jollydwarf. Since 2000, we have slowly but steadily amassed a following that continues to flourish to this day. These changes and modifications will help ensure that you, the reader, will be able to enjoy Jollydwarf posts and share these Talkback message board gems with friends, family, and other loved ones for many years to come." Aqua Teen does rule and you're so right about Zim. My little brother introduced me to Zim last year and I've been hooked ever since. The weird thing is is that I bought a bunch of Zim merchandise for him in December (which includes two T-shirts and a stuffed doll of Gir in his robot form)and I never noticed any of it being around until recently. That sort of got my hopes up; maybe they were going to be making new episodes due to popular demand but I guess not. Carl is a God.

Now the Wachowskis did not originate the movie/cartoon thing, I am not aware of many or any other movies that did the kind of sideways sequel in that way. Clone Wars seems like it could be used to tie films 2 and 3 together. Animatrix is from what I understand supposed to inform you more as to what the Matrix is. These guys may very well have thought up this at the same time, but it is a bit odd.

I have no fondness for Sealab 2021, but I do immensely enjoy Samurai Jack. To each his own. (Unlike another poster, however, I would be very DISAPPOINTED if Cartoon Network had the bad taste air Family Guy. I'd rather have 4 hours of Scooby Doo than half an hour of Family Guy. And I have no fondness for Scooby Doo.) I'm happy about more Big O. I agree with the posters who want more Futurama! I loved Invader Zim. The Venture Brothers as a Jonny Quest parody was okay as a one-shot, but I wouldn't care to see a lot more episodes. (I ALREADY GET IT. I don't have to have 10 variations on the same joke or collection of jokes). Lastly, I would enjoy more Eltingville Club.

The Matrix has more plagiarism in it than all of my high school research papers put together. Anyway, Lucasfilm did the movie to cartoon thing long before the Wachovia Brothers started photocopying comic books. I have to say though that the art that I saw from the Clone Wars isn't very good. That angular, low detailed Samurai Jack style of animation just sucks ass. It's just boring and uninspired.

I'm so sick of how *cool* the unpronouceable (name) brothers are. Have you not seen the Matrix sequel trailer in the theatres? Neo flying? Boy, that didn't look gaaaaaaaaaaaay, not at all! Gawd. I swear. You just splice "Johnny Neumonic" with "Dark City," steal the sfx from "Blade," and *creatively acquire* some plot points from a classic Doctor Who episode known as "The Deadly Assassin" from the 70s. Wowsers, that's original! Yeah, so much cooler than Star Wars or LOTR, indeed...

"No person with at least a quarter of a brain can now denine that Old George Boy is at the very least copying ideas (IF NOT OUT AND OUT PLAGIARIZING) Ideas from "influential" sources. What to guess what that influential souse was?! " So where is this Anamatrix I keep hearing about? and George already did the whole cross media sequel thing with Shadow of the Empire so it's not so friggin' new. the Wachowski's need something to keep busy while their taking longer to make 2 movies than Peter Jackson is taking to make 3. If Lucas wanted to steal from the Wachowski's he would release the 2nd disk from the Ep. 2s DVD in a separate package.---------------------- ----------------------------- And on the main subject of Cartoon network, I was gonna' complain about why some shows were coming back (Home Movies?), and why some don't get the play they deserve( Sealab2021, HARVEY BIRDMAN A.a.L.) but it seems every show has it's haters and fans so I guess we should be happy to have the variety instead of cookie cutter copies of the same formula. I'm hoping Clone Wars is good. I'm not sure about the format and hope it's not cardboard cut-out animation like Samui Jack. My main complaint is the long wait for more Justice League. they couldn't have any more shows sooner? the animation better be way better than the first season if it's gonna' take so long. and why of all the good shows do they keep showing War World?
