If only it were on ABC nightly or weekly... to replace Politically Incorrect.
Does this get rerun later in the week?

So I can get a buddy at work to tape it off of satellite for me. Stupid cable system's got freakin' Country Music and Religous channels out the pooper, but besides TCM not a decent movie channel...

I'm speaking only for myself, there's probably SOMETHING better, but I love Dinner For Five. I can't explain it; on paper it sounds like a dull idea. But somehow, it works, it really works. Think Politically Incorrect where the only topic is movies and the guests actually KNOW what they are talking about. Gotta go, it's starting...

Where is the Miracles Talkback. That show is absolutely phenomenal. Where the X-Files dweled on the supernatural from more of an alien/reality based end, this show explores faith and all the elements of the bible that have intrigued mankind for centuries. I think ABC has a real winner here if they dont step in and start screwing around with it. The levels to Paul's character and why he is so important are intrigueing. Herc...I want my Miracles talkback.

Kinda reminds me of that Larry King USA Today column sketch that Norm MacDonald use to do on SNL: "If you only see one movie this year, make sure it's Gattaca!"

Did you even see the show? There weren't a bunch of jokes about/at the expense of Belushi, both Begley and Fisher's stories were actually told in a very fond light. Though I didn't think this episode was "the best ever," not as good as, well pretty much any episode with a comedian(s), but eh, to each their own.

I think that show is kicking X-FILES ass. Atleast the last 3 seasons of the X-Files. Hope this show doesn't get cancelled.

Dinner for Five has run out of gas.

This show ran out after a couple of episodes. The first season, they ran shows out of order. I wondered and it was because those episodes were the best. The show was pitched about actors talking about the biz. Now they're adding others in the industry which is good but they generally talk about boring stuff still. Fell asleep on this one but Carrie Fisher's outburst kept waking me up. Ed Asner and Blair Underwood hardly ever talked. It was like Dinner for Three like every other episode.

Carrie Fisher, Blair Underwood, Ed Asner, Ed Begley Jr. talking about all the drugs they did!! What a fucking TV highlite!!! Ahhhh, lets see. How about JUST a little logic here. The collective careers of these folks ended about 1985ish. And drugs, well they tend to have negative effects on you over time.... Hmmmmm.... I'm not saying that any of these people has a worm-shitpile worth of talent, but maybe, just maybe . .. theres a connection there somewhere. ..

The best part of the show was Carrie Fisher talking about her birthday party just after she was released from the mental hospital: Princess Leia cutouts laid out on stretchers hooked up to IV's!, ambulances in the driveway!, syringes on the beds! Funny stuff. Ed Begley, Jr.'s remembrance of things past, including an enebriated trip to FatBurger with John Belushi, was pretty damn riveting. Ed Asner was funny, too: He says, "I'm glad I came!" after Favreau remarks that 99% of the male population can't blow themselves because mankind would cease to procreate. Blair Underwood, who starred with Favreau in Deep Impact, didn't have much to contribute, though it was funny that when "Full Frontal" was brought up, nobody had seen it. Good watching for sure, but I enjoyed the David Cross and Peter Bogdanovich episodes much more.

Does Favreau offer to felate Ed A after his failed attempts at self gratification, or is he too fat to get out of his chair.

I mean, I've never heard that story escape his piehole. The crowd at the most recent Dinner For Five was definitely the most geriatric. I don't think any of them saw Blair Underwood in "Full Frontal". Then again, neither did any of us. Belushi stories. Feh. Save it for the updated E! True Hollywood Story.
