Let's make Superman Pixar! The first time I saw Toy Story I thought this, and after the the debacle that is the current state of affairs at WB lets do it. We wouldn't have to worry about casting no-namers, or "stars". I think it could work, because like Harry said they fill you wonderment, and awe, and that is what Superman is supposed to do. I know that this has nothing to do with what was written, just my 2 cents. And I know Disney owns Pixar, and WB owns Superman, just a thought.

NEW PIXAR FILM! IT'S ABOUT A MOUSE! Okay, so I click on that, and the sum total of the entire article is basically...um, there's a new Pixar movie, and it's about a mouse. Great. Also, I found out that Terry Gilliam's thoughts on the future of Terry Gilliam are basically "I'm not retired, but I don't want to talk about what I'm working on. I may, or may not, be making a movie about Don Quixote. I also may, or may not, have a Monterey Chicken Sandwich from Wendy's for lunch." I think a little more attention has to be paid on this site to scoops, you know, like back in the day. I can't say that a single movie has been "broken" to me on this site since I found out about Chud, JoBlo, or hell, even MoviePoopShoot. The best thing about this site is the talkbackers, but they've been overrun by a bunch of complaints about being banned. Yeah, the complaints get tiresome to read I guess, but maybe if they just let the people argue it out, they'd A) get bored after a while and leave, or B) would at least become somewhat clever trolls bitching about MOVIES than bitching about Harry and Mori. The highups are taking this site way too seriously, which is funny, considering that's what they accuse their bashers of doing. A little more news, a little more consistency with the reviews (last year, of all the movies that won a major academy award, not a single one was reviewed by Harry), and less stuff like the Sauron editorial (so as to make their goal of 726 monthly postings about Lord of the Rings) might make the trolls quiet down a bit. Feed their minds, fellas. Give them something to talk about again, and a lot of them will lose interest in talking about YOU.

Seriously, who in the hell do you think you are? Do you think you're cute or funny for posting so often with so much angst and vigor? Do you think you're taking up a noble cause by constantly bashing Harry and other people? Do you think that you are doing something worthwhile by bashing every single thing that is discussed on this site? Do you have any possible idea of how pathetically ironic it is that you endlessly mention other websites as a means of simply bashing this site? Do you think that you are some brave and cunning leader of the other 'regular asshole posters' who for some ungodly reason feel the need to revolt against Harry and everything that he says and does? Well, I have news for you; nobody gives two shits about you and absolutely nobody likes you or thinks you are cute or funny. The only think that you are able to successfully get off is what a genuinely miserable and unhappy person you must be in real life. I kind of feel bad for you, because you've obviously suffered some kind of massive trauma that you simply could not get through unscathed. Did your mother die of cancer when you were young? Were you abused sexually? Are you a 29 year old virgin? Do you have a retarded brother that you are mad at God about or something? Are you simply mad that Harry is making buckets of money doing something that he actually loves and is passionate about? Well, whatever your disfunction is, absolutely nobody cares about it here and we sure as hell don't want to deal with the ramifications of it. So please, please, please just go away. You will not be missed one bit. You are not funny, insightful, or poignant. Just. Go. Away.

first off, to the first poster JBreen: You are a visionary! LOL Yeah, its no wonder AICN talkbackers have been the butt of jokes from everything from Jay and Bob Strike Back to Penny Arcade comic strips. C'mon! How does an adult populated forum get driven into egotistical flame wars...this aint freaking Megatokyo forums or other idiot kiddy ridden gallys online. About Pixar, yeah I know they could make a film about a talking lampost and everyone would bust a nut over it. Talking fish, cars, rats...sounds like a far cry from the days of Toy Story 2 and Monsters Inc. to me. Still though, ya gotta believe they got some cool shit in store whatever their subject be.

King_yoda is right. If you're so sick of Ain't It Cool, why do you stick around and bore us all to death with your frustration? It's not as if we care about how you feel. Ain't It Cool is Harry's site and whether you like it or not, he can do with it whatever he wants, including banning pathetic losers such as yourself. If you can't deal with that, go away and spare us your incessant whining. That, or get a site of your own. Please. Enough already, man.

Their concepts are always the same. It's THE SECRET LIFE OF *FILL IN THE BLANK*. You know; Wouldn't it be great if *Fill In The Blank* were actually alive, living in their own secret world? So far we've had The Secret Life Of Toys, The Secret Life Of Bugs, The Secret Life Of Monsters, The Secret Life Of Unicycles, The Secret Life Of A Snowglobe Snowman, The Secret Life Of Lamps, coming up.....The Secret Life Of Fish, The Secret Life Of Cars, and now The Secret Life Of Mice / Rats. They're really really good at what they do, no doubt, but I WANNA SEE SOMETHING DIFFERENT !!! The most imaginitive person working in animation today is Miyazaki....Sen To Chihiro....now there's a Pizza Pie !!

Right now the only movie forums on the web that are worse than this are at mrcranky.com, but AICN is now within striking distance. Things are at the point lately where the addition of mere threading just won't cut it. Harry. Please. Yes, we all love Pixar (even I thought A Bug's Life did not stand up to the standard set by Toy Story). Thanks for the tidbit, Harry. Personally, I'm glad to see Blue Sky (Fox) ramping up to give Pixar and Dreamworks some serious competition. And I hope Paramount properly funds and manages their venture into digital animation. And as I'm a big fan of Roger Rabbit, I'm also hoping Warners doesn't Batman-and-Robin Brendan Fraser's Bugs Bunny project. While I'm on the subject, there's the question I'd like answered. Are Sony and Warners following the competition into the digital animation realm? I think I know how either one of those studios could woo Jobs. Just take every Windoze PC on the lot and toss them all from the top of a five-story building. Then buy G4s to replace them.
Ultimately...who cares?

I know there should be room for all types of animated films, but hasn't Miyazaki pretty much ruined it for everyone else? I mean, the difference between his films and basically anything to EVER come out of Disney, Pixar, Dreamworks, whatever is so great I can't even see a connection. I love Snow White, Peter Pan, and Pinocchio as much as the next guy, but every Studio Ghibli has more creativity and depth than any "classic". And what happens is, that raises the bar. I can't watch another generic animated film with the goofy sidekick, cheesy songs, etc. without thinking I'm being shortchanged. Yeah, I'm impressed by the work done by Pixar, PDI, Blue Sky or whatever the fuck it's called...but there's something to be said for the hand-drawn method, because this computerized flawless shit just doesn't do it for me. I don't have a problem with Lucas and anyone else using CG for the special effects, but for a film that is completely animated, it's nice to see the human touch. I was watching my 2-disc Grave of the Fireflies DVD, and there's a conversation with Roger Ebert about this, and he points out that although some Anime is filmed with a different frames per second rate that causes a little jumpiness, and sometimes there isn't movement throughout an entire frame, it doesn't matter because it's the stories that suck you in. You're emotionally involved. As funny as Shreck and Monsters, Inc. were, do you really give a shit about anything? Spirited Away moved me as much as any live action film this year. If it doesn't win the Oscar after receiving every other award (including 5 Annie's), you can blame Disney for the mismarketing, the underpromotion, and the self-sabotaging to ensure no-one superior steals their thunder, even if they lose to their closer competitor Dreamworks. It makes me sick.
