Isn't this style of storytelling kind of overused already? Didn't NBC pull this stunt on the backwards ep of Seinfeld? =P
Blah.

Never really cared about this series. Will this episode make me care? No.
Another recycled plotline?!

Yeah, we already did this. Remember when George Clooney's Dr. Ross got into a car accident when Jeanie, the med student with AIDs, in the car? They're trying to make Luka into Dr. Ross, who also had a period of self-destruction. Blah, blah, blah, blah. Let's add this med student injury to the casuality list...ya know, along with Kellie Martin's Lucy Knight character. Even if she makes it, we're talking really boring, been there, done that plotlines.

Seinfeld yes, but didn't ER already do this backward bullshit? I only watch anymore because Leslie Bibb is fucking gorgeous. Too bad they never give her anything to do. Yeah, Maura Tierney is a hottie too, but seriously, this series is a shadow of what it once was. Like Saved by the Bell, they are recycling their own material.

Been there done that. They'll do this to, probably not until May sweeps or February.

Sorry, someone has to post that tired "joke" every ER talkback, right? I'm waiting for the "Abby wakes up in the shower and this whole 'Kovac Does All of Chicago' crap was all a dream" episode. Wasn't he the "moral center" of this show during his first couple seasons??? The guy who lost his virginity on his wedding night? The Anti-Doug? Sure he has a temper, but he only attackes those who deserve it! Now he's the ER slut? Having his family killed didn't push him over the edge, but getting dumped by Abby did??? Oy-yoy-yoy.
Seinfeld's was "Betrayal", not "Memento"

It was a spoof of the Harold Pinter play "Betrayal". There is a similar plot line in both, and the Seinfeld episode even references a character named "Pinter". Also, give Paul McCrane a boatload of Emmys already! Is he in this episode? If so, then it is worth watching. Askfirefly out.
This show has been like a bad Mentos commercial for a long time.

NBC pays 13 million an ep for this recycled crap...

Seinfeld already did a homage to Betrayal. That is so 1983. And we've already seen a very special self-destruction episode that Clooney had in season 4. ER is approaching unwatchable status. I watch it out of habit. I can't wait until next year when NBC is paying megabucks for a show that isn't in the top 25. I hate everyone on the show.

damn fine point. I've been wondering the same thing... fine, we had the "Euro-Clooney" remarks when he came on the show, but in many ways he was the complete opposite in the sex and morals department. But now it's as if the writers can only remember the "oh, he's the new Clooney" line and resort to the old "sleeping with anything that breathes and getting in trouble" storyline. ***BTW, it's also starting to remind me of Thomas Gibson's character on "Chicago Hope". Let's see: dark and handsome doctor who sleeps his way through the entire hospital and most of Chicago gets in trouble with his superiors and other staffers and ends up in a car accident when upset and speeding... Where have I heard that?
