Give this man a boat load of Emmys, and do it soon! Watching him work is the best reason to watch ER!

I agree, DR Romano is the main reason I watch this show now. I just hope they don't overplay his character too much. I like the short snippets of him. I also dig seeing McCrane in old movies. the 1980's The Blob (sheriff guy ripped in half) RoboCop 1 (thug who drives into the radioactive waste). Try and plug me, baby.
Kellie hasn't been on the show in years

Kellie Martin? She was killed off (by the actress' own choice) two years ago. Phenomenal episode, though. She left because she just wasn't getting what she wanted out of it (ie - character development). Too many people on that show, I tell you. Way too crowded. And as a result, some of the better characters suffer from lack of storyline.

Plus, don't forget he was the sensitive, shy, gay student in "Fame" (which the neanderthal ER writers *totally* missed in that "detention" episode last year! Grrrr!). Honor this actor and bask in his performances. Be thankful that you live in a society that allows you to watch such great actors!
Vidal is HOT! So, why is she dating old Weaver?

I just don't get how Kerry Weaver keeps scoring the hottest chicks. Even lesbians must put extra cred into marrying a doctor. :-)**** Seriously, remember the hot blonde pschiatrist?******** They should've paired her with someone like OH, say, Stockard Channing. :-D

They should've grafted the arm of a serial killer onto his body, then they could go into a whole horror movie tangent
Laura Innes is the only good thing about this show.

Very boring epsisode. And in the previews for next week they threatened the viewers with yet more story arc involving Sally Field. So much for Er. Without a Trace has been good.

was at mark greene's funeral. Funny they would get ironsides to be there, but not clooney or marguiles. Not funny from a professional standpoint (ie, i'm sure clooney and chick could't clear their schedule), im saying that i figured clooney and his chick's characters were closer to edwards' character, so you figure they'd be at the funeral before ironsides who was on the show for what, 5 - 6 episodes?
Well, if they git rid af abbey and family, Kim Delaney is availa

Seriously. They can bring in Kim, and she can fire all the scenery chewers, and then we can get back to a good doc show.
Mark's funeral

I don't know if Clooney and Margules were available for the funeral, but I doubt the producers wanted all the talk to be about two characters who'd been very popular but weren't around any more. Ironside's character wasn't prominent, but I thought it was a nice touch to show that other people Mark Greene worked with thought enough of him to go to the funeral.
Kovacs, Etcetera

I think the rationale for Kovacs becoming the equivalent of a male slut might have something to do with drowning his pain. The man's wife and kid were basically murdered back in his home country. He has suffered a major loss, and is basically alone. He has not been able to make a real, deep human connection with anyone in America that has lasted (his main possibility was Abby, and that obviosuly did not last). He is ALONE, and he is drowning himself in sex with women because they are easily available to him. If the writers and producers are smart, they will explaon this: that Kovacs is addicted to sex with hot women the way some others are addicted to drugs or alcohol. He is drowning his sorrows in women rather than facing the desolation of his personal and emotional solitude. The real solution is probably counseling and an attempt to develop meaningful personal relationships. He has nothing beyond work and the occasional sexual encounter. As Mark Greene said in his last words to Kerry: "Don't let work become your life." Kovacs needs to develop a life.****Also, the lesbian firefighter IS hot, in my opinion. Such things can be a matter of taste, to a certain degree. What else? More Chen in bra scenes, YES!! Lucy Knight was a good character played by a good actress, and I was sad to see the writers and producers fail to use her and then dispose of her in such a way. It's a shame. And it is a major crime if Paul McCrane/Romano has no Emmys (I don't much keep track of such awards). The guy is phenomenol, and has been consistently from day one. What else? Abby and Carter are obviously meant to be the center of the show, but they really need to not be overused, otherwise people will start to dislike their centrality. More is less, in my opinion. Fewer storylines of higher quality. The writers need to not crank out a lot of Abby/Carter moments just because they are the lead characters. Fewer plots with greater impact for these two. What else? Don Cheadle is great, as always. Nathan is an interesting character well-acted. I like the fact that Corday has to play the baddie to him a bit; like she has learned how and why to be tough a bit from Romano. Still, it should not be overplyaed. I like Corday (unlike some other Talkbackers), and she needs to be kept sympathetic. Also, Sherry Stringfield's character is NOT suddenly a bad doc; the point of the episode was that she was having an uncommonly bad day, and that she got rattled by it. She was just very "off" for the day, and could not break out of it. I would be throroughly surprised if the writers made this a continuing issue. *****What else? Uh, more can always be said about this multi-faceted show. I think it is still quite good and interesting for a show that has been on as long as it has been. It is consistently solid, if not always sparklingly great. I think those who say that it si past it's prime are just fatigued with a show that has been on so long and which has been so consistent. Of course it is not going to be as fresh as it was when it was new. Still, it is always a solid "B" or better in terms or writing and acting, and it still occasionally shows brilliance above that level (witness Romano, for example). While it is true that it is not as consistently great as it once was, it still is a great veteran show. I think that the writers and producers should try to get their second wind (or seventh wind, or whatever), and try to make the remaining story arcs for the rest of the shows run as great as they can. "Consistently solid" is not the same as "regularly great". The show still has some greatness left in it. The writers and producers should do their best to spark this inherent greatness and really prepare to wind up the show for however long it is to remain on the air. That, and more Chen in her bra scenes...
