in the last ten years in a live action film, and that was Bowfinger. At least funny in the old eddie way. A shame, really. Too many children's films. He needs to do another stand-up film. Come roaring back.

Was a letdown from start to finish. Murphy was pretty funny in Shrek, but that doesn't count, so he hasn't been funny in a long long time.

Bowfinger was funny?! I was bored to death in the theater with that movie. That was Eddie Murphy's best film?! Eddie Murphy's ONLY best film ever was his stand up film Delerious. Beverly Hills Cop 1 coming close to first as second. 48 Hours would maybe be third. Basicly his film work around his Delerious days. People liked him because he was shocking and raunchy. Now he suffers from the comedian bug where they "turn nice", do kids films, or try to get oscars... their fans lose interest.

Eddie started where Richard Pryor left off. But from Eddie, came a slew of comics striving to reach his loft. He did comedy the way the Rolling Stones did rock and roll. But once we saw it enough, from so many comics, it lost what really propelled it -- originality. He was the best. I always root for him, regardless of the dreck he consistantly pumps out.
Not the best date film!

...it will still be more successful than Eddie Murphy's Titanic-caliber disaster, Pluto Nash. As that movie's box office flushed down the toilet, so did barrels of money, time, and talent. Hopefully Eddie Murphy will be able to salvage some of it, despite the weak comic duo.

Seriously I would rather watch Swept Away then a P.O.S like this! The trailers for this and 2 week Notice make me yearn for my Requiem for a Dream DVD! This looks horrible!
Seriously, Mariah....

I think I would rather have a battery acid enema than watch Swept Away. However, Owen Wilson is cementing his place as this generation's... er... wait, I guess there is no equivalent to the goofy white sidekick. Did somebody forget Trading Places? Ralph Bellamy rules!

What kind of a woman breaks up with you by brandishing an appendage-sized knife? What kind of woman attends movies, even though she's blind as a bat and refuses to wear glasses? The imaginary kind.

I just wanted to be an idiot. I am not first, and I probably never will be. I have finally found something in life to aspire too, yet I fail miserably every fucking time. But, anyway, what is the topic? Oh Yeah, Eddie Murphy being a sell out. Enough said I guess. Why is anyone even trying to build an argument for this movie? Why am I taking time out of my life to post this? That's right... I just wanted to be an idiot. I imagine Eddie Murphy tells himself that everytime a script comes to him... "Gee. maybe this is my opportunity to be an idiot. MAYBE I can make everone on the planet HATE me. MAYBE I can secretly hide a large acorn squash in my rectum during the entire duration of the movie shoot. Maybe I should get a tattoo on my forehead that says, give me your money, and I will make you feel like you have an acorn squash lodged in your bunghole." That would be cool.
