Porn and Chicken

Yale has the real life porn and chicken club, or they did a year or so ago. As I understand it they ran into some trouble for using college equipment improperly, and are now persona non grata witht the administration. Incidentally, the yale club was a COMPLETE rip-off of Dartmouth's Beer And Cinemax Society.

people performing porn is interesting. people making porn is also interesting. People eating chicken and watching porn is not. Unless they perform porn while watching the porn... or eating the chicken. maye they'll make porn WITH the chicken. Brings a new sense to the phrase 'eating chicken'.

I'm glad to hear that the Hot Zone is out of development hell. The book is amazing. I've always felt that it would make great source material for a picture. Years ago, Robert Redford flirted with the idea of helming an adaption (that would have been sweet). However, that rather horrible Dustin Hoffman flick made it to the big screen first. Outbreak is a dud. It turns the ebola virus into an Indiana Jones-esqe romp. What was the worst moment of that movie? The helicopter chase; Rene Russo's incredible recovery after being stricken with the same disease that wiped out half of a fucking town; Donald Sutherland - so many bad memories. Anyway, that crapfest forced the Redford offering to go into turnaround. I hope the Hot Zone revival becomes a reality.

Sounds like an Anka Radakovich story from her book (the title escapes me right now.) She described going to a middle America sex club, where, at the end of it, fat, nude, hairy midwesterners sat eating greasy chicken and pulling pubic hair out of their teeth. Heaven.

I believe the plot of the Porn n' Chicken movie involves the forming of the club, its growth to mini-cult status & the ensuing outcry. I have a few friends working on this one. Perhaps I can get something out of them. Also, Rob Schneider & Jack Handey are funny mf's, but there would have to be some serious sh-- going on there to be better than Terry Jones & Tim Robbins. "Monty Python-esque," indeed.

...the Twisted Spoke hosts Smut'n'Eggs every Saturday at Midnight--they start serving brunch at the bar while showing porn. I don't know if the same dude is still hosting it, but he was a weird guy in his 40's or 50's who was a porn historian who would actually type up a synopsis of the two movies to be shown each week, complete with production details and stories about the performers. There's also Exit, where I'm a regular, which shows porn on the monitors at some point at least five nights a week (they're open 365 til 4 AM, Saturdays til 5). No fried chicken, though--just pickled eggs and pigs' feet. There's also Little Jim's, a gay bar, which shows gay porn all the time (ick--not my style, I think it's probably better left to gay guys). I'm sure there are more, but my point is, it's not a big deal. Now a movie about those college kids who were FILMING porn on campus, THAT'S a story with potential right there. There's a lot going on when you have 19-year-olds at Ivy League schools who don't have the good goddamn sense not to spread on camera for video and the interweb. That's a clear sign today's youth are totally twisto. God bless the stupid little bastards.

I read the book. There's no seventy-something detective character. The detective is one of the three characters reunited after twenty years (the others are the victim's father and the prime suspect. If the detective is anyone else, then the entire balance of the story is thrown off. It would be a damn shame if such a great book (and potentially great film) fizzled into another TRUE CRIME or ABSOLUTE POWER just because Clint can't keep from dragging his ass in front of the camera for old times sake.

Robert DeNiro's pathological, Jerry Lewis-obsessed mama's boy character from Martin Scorsese's underrated media satire "King of Comedy." All of us can probably relate to him. Mr. Movie-Trailer Voice is a bunch of people, but the guy you hear most often is Don LaFontaine.

Originated at Yale. Since H'wood is overrun with snot-nosed, navel-gazing, solipsistic Elis who form the true power base behind Ovitz's alleged "gay mafia," it's no surprise that this is being made into a movie, whether or not it has a decent story, or indeed any story worth telling at all.

Mentioning Rob Schneider and Monty Python in the same breath is just plain blasphemi. The nerve I say. Schneider would be lucky if he was compared to a corn on the toe of the least funniest Python member. I guess that would be Terry Gilliam. Hey, Terry, you got any corns that we could compare this guy to? By the way, I quote TG as being the least funniest member because he had very few speaking parts and appeared in very little if any Python skits while they were in their prime, except for the animation bits. TG is master of animation, and now, of direction.
