It looks like Adultswim is slowly taking over the ye olde and fateful Toonami block and turning into the Adult Swim crap. I don't mind the less-censored material, but i don't want to have to tape the stupid thing every satuarday night just so i can see it. :P Its bad enough that their not showing anything new in the Toonami block anymore. Newest thing they've shown has been Zoids.

What's going on with the film? That's anyone's guess. Someone needs to step up to the plate to be the US distributor since Disney/BVHE decided not to handle any theaterical release. Another factor (that's usually ignored in favor of more bashing) is Tokuma. If they _require_ a theatrical release (which they could, it's their film) selling the film becomes more difficult. A direct-to-DVD agreement would probably interest more companies in the US, but I doubt that Tokuma is very excited about that path.

I just saw Metropolis at the AMC 25 in New York, and I liked it so much I went to Chinatown and bought a fansub DVD. For $18. Now, I find they're coming out with it in March. Why, oh why, couldn't I have waited?
I pre-ordered Metropolis earlier this month...

Interview with Rintaro Katsuhiro? Who the fuck is this guy? I have the japanese DVD and there are interviews with Rintaro & Katsuhiro Otomo. Maybe we are talking about their son... Jin Roh is pretty cool, and clearly shows how Japan is son ahead in the animation field that anyone in the world. However the joke of the day is that simple sentence: "Yoko Kanno is the shit", LOL! It is probably as far as the truth possible on earth!

And you're wrong, the funniest sentence you'll read today is your own: "It is probably as far as the truth possible on earth!" Would you mind rendering it into something that we can actually understand?
Thanks for all of the hard work, Scott

It's integration of 2D and 3D animation is ANYTHING BUT successful. It looks like something from the early 90s. Or even late 80s. It SUCKS. I mean, I suppose it could be called successful in that they occasionally composite 2D characters on 3D backgrounds, but what it mostly is is mediocre 2D sequences interspersed with 3D segments that look like some kind of 3DSmax tutorial or something.
Keep up the great work Scott.......

I hope you know that i'm just joking with you. I too have had my share of bad typing and bad spellig. And, now that I think about it, some of Kanno's Cowboy Bebop tracks make me cringe when I hear them (like the eminently unlistenable "Chicken Bone"...ugh...). But, her the majority of the Cowboy Bebop music as well as all of the Macross Plus music is much better than a lot of other anime soundtracks. Did she write all of the Memories tracks? I thought someone else took the composing helm for the "Stink Bomb" and "Cannon Fodder" segments.
yes, yes, I know..."her the majority"...sigh

And its about fucking time! All of you lowly piss-ant anime fans should get down on your knees and pay homage to the granddaddy of all anime in the US - Star Blazers (aka Space Cruiser Yamato to you Gaijin). Without that show, and Speed Racer you would not enjoy all the anime you do now. Wow. Just Fucking awsome, man.

Does ANYONE out there read BOTI? I never see anyone mention it on these TB's, and it's pretty much my favorite book (I'm a sucker for period samurai drama; just started reading Vagabond, which is also damn good), but no-one else I know has heard of it, stupid backwater-town-syndrome! Hello? Anyone?

he he he. Actually she did not compose all the Memories segments, just the first one, but I believe it is absolutely oustanding. Some themes include music from Madame Butterfly, and this is done with and incredible good taste and talent. Sure some Cowboy Bebop is, let

I've heard of Blade of the Immortal...however, I have yet to start reading it. I've really been wanting to start picking it up, but when you factor in the Akira trade paperbacks, the Lone Wolf and Cub reprints, and the regular titles I read every month my comics budget is usually stretched pretty thin. Eventually I would love to start reading Blade of the Immortal...that and Usagi Yojimbo. Now, a question for you, IonicMagnus...have you been reading the Lone Wolf and Cub reprints? If not, I suggest you start. It is an utterly amazing read every single month. You said that you love period samurai dramas, and this is definitely one of the best. I give it my highest recommendation. Hope you check it out and enjoy it.

Ultraman Tiga actually. Been waiting for this news since I heard 4Kids acquired the rights to the Tsuburaya series last year. I've seen the entire series in japanese already, and I have to say, this was a very well done series. If it goes over well, maybe 4Kids will acquire Ultraman Dyna and Ultraman Gaia as well.

Remastered Eva DVD? WHAT???
by Sean Whitmore

What's this about remastering volume 1 of the Eva DVDs? And a new insert in Volume 2? I bought all of these discs individually, and now I find out they're changing stuff for the collection. Now, could somebody tell me if this is a significant change, or something stupid? Some places are selling the Eva Box and Vol 1 by themselves, and my Eva-freak obsessive mind is wondering if it's worth it.***Also, ANN didn't make this quite clear...is the Cowboy Bebop movie being released in theaters in America or is it not?
