Yay, Roswell talkback is back! Just some comments. Isabel deserves to be happy, but I just wish it was with Alex. Max and Liz just need to be happy for a couple CONSECUTIVE of eps. Is that too much to ask? I know happiness is boring on TV, but we need just a little bit of it. I know Maria's going to be someone new, but it just doesn't seem right. If Michael could wake up and treat her the way she should be. Anyways, that's all I have to say. PS- Why do people just post that they're first? I wouldn't say anything if they actually talked about Roswell, but geez. Are all you "first" ppl like on the net all day waiting for the exact moment the ppl here put up a talkback, just to post first? : |

Whassup with the "Roswell is better" crap? So now I'm some Smallville acolyte cuz I find it more engaging? Sheesh... ...and besides, my guy could kick the kryptonite outta your guy. And the Hulk too, using Thor as a battering ram! Wait, this isn't the old comic fanboy message board? oops...

Glad to see the Roswell talkback seperate from Smallville. Let all the wagon-jumpers get their kicks their. Having said that I realize Roswell has its flaws I'm just not a mindless drone to what Madison Ave. spews out and tells me is "The best new show on TV". Also I watch Smallville. So ya see its possible to like both. Roswell is showing more and more with each episode that its firmly back to exploration of the characters. I think its best to look at Roswells season as arcs. Season One is the basic introduction. Season Two was the presentation of their mythology and alienness. Season Three is the exploration of living and growing with what they know. These first few episodes seem to me to be rich with possibilites. I like whats going on and look forward to next week. Gotta go watch my taped Smallville episode.
Smallville is just Roswell with a bald guy

Roswell rules. I'm loving the show more and more each week because it just keeps getting better and better. Tonight's episode was simply wonderful. The Kit Shickers actually rocked that bachelor party lol. Not to mention Valenti barely being fazed by that bottle that skimmed his head he just kept right on singing. Finally Liz stood up to that moron of a father. I was so proud of her. Hopefully now he'll get a life and stop making her pay for him having been an ass when he was younger. Didn't like Isabel's dress, too old fashioned and she has way more taste anyway. I'm liking how they're throwing Isabel and Kyle together more and more, but I couldn't believe it when Kivar appeared at the wedding. I mean I knew he was coming to town but still him just appearing at the wedding when everyone thought he was just in her dreams was freaky. I can't wait for next weeks episode, because finally they're all getting back to what they do best. Fight a common enemy TOGETHER. That's what season one and the better part of season two was about before they overkilled it with the scifi stuff. I can't wait until Feburary to find out what Liz's changes will be. I hear she get's powers.
Roswell is the better show...

...not that I don't like Smallville. This is coming from a die-hard Superman fan. Smallville is good, but Roswell just has more depth to it. There's more to deal with in Roswell than just "who's going to be a kryptonite-altered villian this week" scenerio. Tonights episode of Roswell gave it a big boost in my book. I think it's getting the right balance of the relationship-drama and the alien intrigue element.

i figure most people that watch buffy watch roswell, and i was just gonna run this idea by ya. is it possible that "sweet" and "teeth" could be the same demon. do any of the scoobies have a sweet tooth? maybe someone of a higher intellegence can find something out of this. and if you didnt like the musical, i know youre intitled to your opinion, but youre an ass
KYLE NEEDS A GIRLFRIEND STAT!!

I'm serious. He's the most stable of the guys and the nicest (you're not gonna find him telling someone who they're not allowed to see). And this is all very odd, considering the jerk he started out as. I love Michael, but I'm beginning to wonder what Maria sees in him. Max always sort of annoyed me, and why was Liz mad that he didn't call her for last week anyway? What did she think would happen once he found his ship? I mean he was trying to get home. Isabel should've left after Max threatened her for wanting to go away to college. That poor girl keeps getting dumped on. But I ramble. Kyle seriously needs a girlfriend or at least a date.
No Maria=shitty season

I know that Maria is not one of the "core" characters (3 aliens + Liz), but many agree it is her spunk that kept the show lively and worth watching for so long. Does anyone remember the period piece episode from the '50s? SIZZLE. Until they give Majandra some more screen time and shit to do besides make comments about Michael, the show is going to continue its slide. I'm glad Max has become more badass this year (along with Liz lightening up), but Michael has turned into ROTJ-era Han Solo buffoonery, and Maria has faded into the background. Hopefully next week will be the last to focus solely on Isabel. While I love Heigl, they need to spread the joy around a little better,

I read and I read, but nothing makes me think there is life enough in Roswell for me to waste my precious time again. I liked the show once, but it lost its way and it lost my loyalty. I doubt anything I read here or see in promos will bring me back. So sad!
So ya say you just can't get back into Roswell

I readily admit Roswell is going through changes. Its those changes, good ones IMHO, that keep the dynamic of the show going(like XFiles has). If you don't see anything here or in the promose to tease you back try this. Tape an episode or two and then watch them back to back. As we all know one episode is like an appetizer, teasing you till the main course. Try taping 2-3 then sitting down and watching them. I'm banking you'll see that Roswell still has its charm.

Isabelle's husband is going to get killed and Kyle's going to move in. Just a thought. I agree that Roswell is getting better with each episode. It had a slow start this season. Kyle really needs a love interest. I like him so much better now. Does everyone remember what a dick he was in the beginning? I also think maybe UPN should move Roswell to a different day and time slot. I love how its right after Buffy, but its hurting with 24 and Smallville in its hour. Just a thought.

I have taped all the eps this year and finally watched them today. Compared to Smallville, this show has still got it. The characters are developing nicely and the focus on the dynamics of the group are a welcome change to the exploration eps of last season. Overall, Roswell is a better show then Smallville and deserves a look by all. By the way, I think the first ep this season was well paced and grabbed my attention better then all the eps last season. Agree that the actress that plays Maria needs more to do. Valenti is wasted this year.....Really needed to get him back into law enforcement with band on side (if needed). His character was so much more rounded in the first season.......
If i had to choose....

If the choice came I'd have to pick Roswell. By far the better show. Smallville is fun but it's way too formulaic. We know that Lex will define himself as the bad guy this season by doing something very "evil" to the residents of Smallville but it's taking soooooooo long for this stupid plot line to devellop. Roswell just needs to get out of Roswell. Episodes that brought the crew outside that dead end town were much more exciting. Let's get the aliens back in space!!! And get Tess back, she's too cute to be off TV....
Valenti...

I think Valenti is going through a little mid-life crisis. I don't understand why he doesn't become a private investigator or something. I could picture it, "Valenti Investigations".
Roswell Is Definately Going To Get Better

Trust me all Roswell get's much better. I mean it's been getting better and better all season and next weeks seems to be really kick ass. Liz's powers are going to come out in Feburary. They don't say what they are but they're coming. Maria get's her own show in two weeks, which will spell the end for her and Michael because she breaks up with him. Like I said before Roswell is best when the group is fighting a common enemy now they have that again with Kivar. Remember how good the season finale was last season when they got together and found out about Tess? Well small groups found out but in the end they were all together like they used to be. I think Jesse will die as well. The writers have been pushing her and Kyle together to much for that just to be a coincidence, I mean she could have gone to Liz or Maria to talk anyone but they sent her to Kyle. Kyle is by far one of the best on the show, he's dependable and really good, much better than the jerk he was in the first season. I'm just hoping that they'll give him more to do, I guess it just seems like he's in the background more because he's alone now. Before he used to have Alex as his cohort, but now he's all alone while everyone else is all paired up. Even his father has the Kit Shickers. Valenti is going to go the PI route soon so at least he'll be back in a cool job instead of being comic relief.

From one Austinite to another thankyou Harry for bringing back Roswell Talk Back! Also thankyou Hercules for your support to Roswell. Thankyou talkbackers for realizing Smallville is crap! Long live Roswell! And thankyou Jason Katims for bringing a non-formulaic, ever growing, character driven, destiny and fate oriented series masterpiece! Keep doing what you did the first two seasons and stay true to the story instead of special fx and the show will do great! That's all people really want is a good story with destiny, fate, comedy, romance,dr ama, action, and of course scifi elements which Jason Katims has brought us. Dam those superficial Dawson's Creek and Smallville producers. And thankyou for making Jesse latino, its about time we add color to color tv. Roswell, spread the word everyone.
here's where it starts getting great!

The stage is being set! Don't you see it? Alien history is going to be repeating itself, but here on Earth , not Antar. Isabels' former self sacrificed her family and control of her planet to her lover Kavar, who betrayed and murdered her and the rest of the royal four. Kavar has come to earth to replicate that tactic, and make sure the hybrids don't take their planet back. Hang on, it's going to be a bumpy ride!

the best hour of television all week! I have 2 VCRs going to catch it all. Roswell is still my number one choice, but 24 looks great, and Smallville has potential. Roswell is still good, the problem is that it used to be fantastic, so we're spoiled. I haven't enjoyed this season as much as the last 2, but there are still some great things about the show. Love Kyle this season, hope he doesn't get marginalized. Great development of the alien side of the story (Joey Pants rules!), but I miss the romantic side. Also hate that Maria's AWOL. *** Question: what happened to that kid that I thought was Kivar? (The skin from the town where they had the politician's funeral.) I thought he was actually still out there and that he was Kivar. Did he take a new skin suit to look like this guy at Is' wedding? I'll have to go back and rewatch last year, I must be forgetting something. **** It's this depth of storytelling and detail that make Roswell great. Smallville doesn't have it yet, but it is still new. My problem with smallville is that I only really like Lex. Plus, as others mentioned, talk about overuse of kryponite!!! It's like an escape clause: need a weakness, a mutation, etc, use kryptonite!
That wasn't Kivar

That little kid wasn't Kivar, it was one of his minons Nicholas. Nicholas spoke on Behalf of Kivar at the summit, but no he wasn't Kivar.
Roswell Vs. Smallville

I agree that Roswell is the superior show, although I do like Smallville a lot. Lana is the crappiest on that show, no Liz Parker that's for sure. And the two "side kicks" in Smallville plane boring and unbelievable. I'll take Kyle and Maria anyday! I love the wedding episode, awesome! Cannot wait to see how this ends. Just wanted to say thanks for bringing back the Roswell talk back too!

i loved this show on the wb but you know i hate to say i'm starting not to like this show this year. smallville does have it's faults but has more potential i think. roswell is moving again toward the soapopera like human side. Aren't they supposed to free their planet or somethinglike that so aren't they supposed to find a way back. i dont' know i'll probably get alot of flack for this but i thought the wedding episode was crap.

Dr.Mojo has no depth perception. The people that don't understand what I just said are the ones that really like Smallville over Roswell. Choosing Smallville over Roswell is like choosing 2-dimensional over 3-dimensional. Let's face it Smallville sucked from the beginning, just none of us wanted to believe it because we all really wanted it to be good cause we all love superman. Personally I think DC Comics is in the wrong hands, I mean how many times is Warner Brothers gonna fuck it up. I say hand DC Comics over to DreamWorks because they know how to put a team together for a good movie with character, imagine Batman brought to you by Spielberg's DreamWorks production company. Basically these iconic and wonderful characters are in the wrong hands. When Roswell was on the WB it had potential, but the WB didn't support it or promote it the way they did Buffy or Angel for that matter, which both are the same exact shows really. Hopefully UPN will show the support it deserves to Roswell.
