O.k., now I look like an idiot 'cause Harry just fixed his mistake. But maybe I can make it up my revealing something from the script: hmmmmmmm, let's see, well, Ingrid's parent's names are Joe and Helga....Ricardo WILL be in his wheel chair in the movie (of course) but he can transform it into a special device; and when Juni and Carmen are lost, it is GRANDPA that finds them. Don't wory, these are not big spoilers so enjoy them. MacGuffin out.

I haven't heard anything about Bill Paxton being cast in this flick, but my guess is that he is playing the President. You can read more about the President's role in the film in my review of the script which Harry posted this past weekend. MacGuffin out

I had heard that Montalban had such extreme back problems that he would probably never act again. It is so heartwarming to see that report proved false. He is a real class act.

I love StarTrek2 and Naked Gun and even that tv movie of wonderwoman- but for me, when I think Montalban, I always think of him in this infomercial I saw where he's flogging these religious necklaces. He says (read in best Montalban voice): 'I...cherish my Christan Cross.. I KNOW you will too.' The way he said it always made me think- That man can be pretty creepy and frankly, a little scary. Good old Richardo. All together: Khaaaaaaan!

The "boom" is a big log pole with a microphone at the end...
by Palmer Eldritch
Nov 7th, 2001

...not the microphone itself. Microphones have been small for a LONG time now. The big fuzzy thing you always see is a windguard used for exterior shooting, and the small microphones go inside it - not necessary in a studio. Microphone technology has not been effected at all by the introduction of Hi Def video, on a proper movie shoot (using film or video), the microphone isn't even connected to the camera! And your elbows are between your hands and your shoulders, not at the top of youre legs.

though the two things in the title have nothing to do with each other... About your question, Mr. Chapel. The city of Corinth from which Corinthian leather comes from is in Greece, if I remember correctly from my high school Greek plays and whatnot. As far as why this site has so many article which seem to be Harry "cumming" as one soul so lovingly put it... well, it's because we like it. We love when Harry gets a chance to justafiably geek out. It is a grand thing to witness, if not in person, then at least in writing. Seeing an uber-geek completely freak out is one of the most beautiful things ever. Ask anyone who went to the QT Fest this year... they will tell you of the wonder before their eyes as Quentin himself was going apeshit over the uber-god that this artlicle speaks of, and Quentin going apeshit is a thing of wonder to behold, so much so that you don't want to keep it to yourself. Harry sharing his excitement with the entire world who wants to read is awesome. It's why I came to this site in the first place, and why I still read on to this day. Fantastic job Harry. The fact that you got to meet Ricardo makes you all that much more cooler. Three cripples hanging out on set together, geeking together. What grand fun. ;)

Cool stuff meeting, Mr Rourke. I liked Spy Kids, but I wasn't blown away with it. I would rather see Rodriguez work on something a little more grittier. The cast seems top notch though for this one. And by the way, the server does indeed suck. Unbelievably sloooooow. Let's get on the ball, big guy. I mean, AICN is one of the best sites out there and legless sloths run faster.

whether Ricardo Montalban plays Antonio Banderas's character's father or father-in-law it is clearly inspired casting. There will undoubtedly be tension in their relationship where Banderas doesn't seem to be able to measure up to Montalban's standards. Who else could you cast that has past performances that proof the actor can be at least as smooth, suave, intelligent and tough as Banderas? As good as Banderas is, and he is very good, 'Spy Kids' was the first film I've seen him in where he had completely lost that 'pretty boy' quality. I can remember when I was a kid watching Montalban the first time he played Kahn. Without thinking about I just knew the guy was muscular, well over 6 ft tall and powerful. Pro-football big. I didn't learn until years later that the he is actually almost short and not that large a person. The sheer quality of his performance had me knowing he was huge powerful man. Turns out he is powerful hugely talented actor. Ricardo Maltaban in 'Spy Kids 2'? How can you read that without smiling?

...I thought it was going to be someone that is/or was silly big, by current standards. Arnold Schwarzenegger had corssed my mind. But as a 20 year Trek fan I am jazzed that Ricardo is still working. I also thought it was cool that Harry was eating lunch with Ricardo and Robert. It's not like I can call them up and invite them over for a BBQ.

It always amazes me how easy it is to spot the educated and knowledgable people to ignorant little kiddies playing on their daddies computers. To all of you who shit on Harry's parade I think it's past your bedtimes because I hear your mommies calling you. So as Howard Stern would say if you don't like it or you aren't interested in it TURN THE FUCKING CHANNEL/DIAL/PAGE!!!!!!!!!! Most of us could care less about your uneducated opinions. No Harry didn't coin the term. Does anybody study history anymore? There was this little group of Germans called the Nazis that had some truly fucked up ideas and one of them was the Uber-Mensch, or in literal english Over-Man but more or less meant Over-Lord. Ring a bell! I'm not lying you can look it up in thoses thingies called books, ya know paper all bundled together with words printed on them. It was also used in the German battle cry, "Deutschland Uber Alles!" or Germany Over All. So no that your history and language lesson is over your mommie is ready to read you your bedtime story.

"over" as in overestimated or overreacted (clearly the case here, Kahn, oh boy ...). Since the correct first letter is a "U" with two dots above, Internationals, who do not have this letter on their keyboard, should write "Ue" instead.
