Why anyone would wait til next year for this movie when they can get a perfect director's cut DVD that has no region code and tons of extras for as little as $12 to $13 is beyond me. And this is an official release people so get off your bootleg high horse.

Yes, this film rocks. Yes, there is a Region Free Official (i.e. released by Media Asia, one of the partners in the recent releases of Iron Monkey, Time and Tide, and Once Upon a Time in China) release with perhaps the BEST TRANSFER of an HK film I've seen. Usually native HK transfers are merely watchable. The extras are outstanding, as someone already noted, the movie itself is fantastic. Needless to say, I own this DVD of Shaolin Soccer. All this means is that I probably won't buy the domestic DVD whenever that comes out, but I will definitely see this movie on a big screen. THAT is something worth waiting for, as well as enjoying laughing along with people during this wonderful, wonderful film.

Yeah, I saw clips of this movie awhile back on some news channel when the whole yamakasi craze started. I knew Besson was involved in the movie but was surprised to see that he was actually the director. As for Kiss of the Dragon, it was one of the best pictures of the summer for me, a brutal, no holds barred action movie strictly for adults.

I already own the Shaolin Soccer DVD (and got one for a friend.) BTW- The present DVD has a glitch at one point near the end of the movie. Fast-forwarding usually helps.

This is an old movie, it's been out for over a year now, I've never seen it but it's about this group of guys who have extraordinary power (one can run very fast, and another's body is like rubber,) sort of like a modern day superhero stuff. They were recruited for a job to try to get a heart to the hospital for a transplant on a child. It's suppose to be decent, check the online DVD store for Hong Kong stuff, I think you can find a copy or two around if you're interested.
