Legend of Zu is crap, dont be fooled

Truly one of the biggest pieces of shit I've seen in a long time, especially coming from Tsui Hark who just did the incredible "Time and Tide". Sure the movie looks great but there are about 3 0r 4 actual cool scenes and those are fleeting at best. You want Zhang Ziyi?, she's in it for 10 minutes total and her part is inconsequental. She has a fight scene, the only thing I can see Wo Ping choreographing since the rest is people flying through the air, and in her scene it's clearly a man doubling for her in the sword fight. You want Sammo Hung? He's unrecognizable as the villain, all he does is float in the air with some wood mask on. I didnt know it was him until reading the credits. As for the villain and finale, imagine the worst parts of the ending of Spawn and the original Blade ending and you get my drift, all CG looking crap. Like Father Geek says, the movie looks great but thats about it.

Wait a sec Harosa. Are you sure you remember what Sammo looks like?I haven't even seen the movie, just the trailer. But it's quite obvious he's the guy with the white robe and long bushy eyebrows.Even I can see that!

Sammo does play one of a couple of whitebrows in the film, my mistake, but he also plays the villain. Sorry, although my original verdict still stands, this is basically 2 hours of characters flying around with some decent FX. Everyone should get Shaolin Soccer instead, that has more heart and even better FX than this and Stormriders.

Hi folks, Legend of Zu will be available on DVD and VCD in mid-October at all local Asian video stores and websites. Besides the bad reviews and poor showing I have been hearing, I will still see Legend of Zu, because I am a big admirer of Tsui Hark's work. Remember this, Hark's films like The Blade and Green Snake were not big hits in Hong Kong, but they did became cult classics in America!
