I've already ranted elsewhere about my feelings on this, but I just gotta ask. Why was the show pulled? It's airing in a block clearly designated Adults Only, so why is there a problem? Just tell me why, so I can shit up and just go buy the DVDs.

CG? No, go look at the older games, before FF7. They were all done in the standard anime design, no nifty CG to throw around. And yes, Square is doing it, they just contracted out to Gonzo so it would be good. Notice that a member of Square's Saga series is on-staff. This is a good thing - Square has gotten lazy lately, so maybe Gonzo will make something cool.

I just heard from Jerry Chu of Bandai. Firstly, he expresses his condolences to the victems of recent events. He also states it is Bandai's understanding that Cowboy Bebop and Gundam will resume broadcast on Cartoon Network in early October

Cowboy Bebop and MS Gundam were both pulled "as a matter of tact" by cartoon network. You may have also noticed that many of their shorts have been pulled as well. They pulled any cartoon that deals with terrorism or buildings being blown up or falling, which can be understood as children have seen enough of these things. Cowboy Bebop, however, WILL be back starting October 4 according to Anime Nation, but Gundam, due to it's poor ratings, doesn't have a definate return date to finish its run. Be sure to check out Cowboy Bebop though -- it's Episode 5, one of the best in the series!
Final Fantasy tv series...

Square made a 4 part anime series a few years back called Legend of the Crystals, set in FF V's world. I wouldn't call it great - the animation, story and voice acting were weird , but it did make me laugh consistantly with its wackiness. And while I really do love the FF CG movie, the series had most of the elements one would generally expect, and what I really hoped would be in a Final Fantasy movie - chocobo's, magic, summoners, hero with a huge sword, etc. I feel the main reason Square didn't make a CG movie like that is because they were afraid of it not being taken seriously. Since this new tv series seems like it's going to have the same elements I've mentioned, I feel what Square is probably doing now is to test the waters how successful such a setting might be. If it does prove to be a success, I am sure a new CG movie would soon follow - maybe a direct sequel to the tv series, or set in a similar type of world. At least, I really, really hope so.
