Sounds freakin' cool to the point of loading up the truck and driving to Austin! But it's been waaaaay too long since he's made a movie. Producing doesn't count damn it!! --Syd
Lau Ching Wan rocks! But Big Bullet's ending...

...Is a letdown compared to the rest of the film. The ending seems rushed and "amateurishly" (is that a word?) filmed somehow. The rest of the film is cool beans though. Stylish and exciting like few HK films are anymore. And Lau Ching Wan is just fucking cool. He totally has the intense persona nailed. And it's cool to see that QT actually keeps up with HK films, more or less!
I saw a great doco on Sam Fuller that had QT and Tim Robbins on

1 -- Harry can't tell the difference between Sam Fuller and Sam Peckinpah (you "should of" at least proofed the beginning, Harry) -- 2 -- QT loves really, really shitty movies like Billy Jack and Shark. There is a difference between little seen genre gems and crap, Quentin. Your aud is going to soon discover this and stop going to your shit shows. -- 3 -- QT must not have seen Crouching Tiger, because he sayus that Chow Yun Fat hasn't done any acting recently that he liked. Well, CTHD doesn't have any animal deaths, torture, people screaming the "N word" or hands getting ground up in garbage disposals, so I guess he probably didn't see it. -- 4 -- Leave the grindhouse shit in the '70s 42nd St. stained seat theaters, Q. We've moved beyond that.

Good points, you've made a real difference, now go do that day job thing Quentin doesn't have to do.
Big Bullet's Ending...

DOES feel different from the rest of the film, and with good reason - it was widely publicized that they basically ran out of money and had to scrap their original ending and cobble this one together - they had to finish the entire ending in something like three days, and it shows. The movie is still great fun, though, and Lau Ching Wan is just awesome. Though they don't get to show their stuff as much, it's nice to see two of Hong Kong's other coolest actors, Francis Ng and Anthony Wong in the film. And of course Jordan Chan(in a very different role than usual) and Yu Rong Guang - The Iron Monkey! Awesome fun.
look at that...
