Hey folks, Harry here. Well... I greatly prefer this rumor to the rumors that Paul "I make shit" Anderson is involved. Of course... This is equally as weird as the rumors about Paul Anderson and Morgan Freeman, that have seemingly been making the rounds. Though... I would really have to question the concept of putting a complete guerilla filmmaker in charge of what should be a fairly big budget sci-fi film. It just seems like an odd match. And I'm sure there will be fans that adore the concept of a Patrick Stewart/Dr Who. But... as this is an alleged scoop with a 'payoff' in November... heh... Wait and see. Don't go getting all fired up yet. This could be one of those... John Woo directing the next BATMAN type of rumors....

Just thought I'd drop you a line from the UK. Read an interesting news snippit on the Channel 4's teletext service this morning 21/09/99 about the new Dr. Who film.

According to the report the BBC are talking to the director of The Blair Witch Project about involvment in a new Dr. Who film. The film that has a "budget" of ?14 Million, according to the report, and is trying to get a big Holywood star to be the Doctor. Patrick Stewart is the name given, and I think it may be an interesting option... Anyway, they are reporting that an official announcement is due sometime in November.

As I say this comes from the Channel 4 Teletext system, and they have been pretty good in the past for bits of Movie/TV news.
