Copernicus wants you to check out INK and has tickets for some of ya!
Hey everybody -- Copernicus here. I'm super-excited to announce a sneak preview screening of one of my favorite movies of the year, INK, at the Egyptian theater in Los Angeles, Wednesday, June 10 at 7:30 PM.
If you missed my original review of INK, you can find it here. The film features an otherworldly dimension where shadowy incubi battle heroes for the soul of a little girl in a coma. Here's the trailer. As I said in my review -- the thing that impressed me most about INK is the creativity behind it. Despite not having a huge budget, it is an incredibly imaginative, immersive universe, and is unlike anything I've ever seen.
Better yet, I'm hosting a Q&A after the screening with the filmmakers, including director / writer / composer Jamin Winans, and producer / art director / costume designer Kiowa Winans. I met them after the Santa Barbara screening, and they are a massively talented, and really fun couple of film geeks. They are big fans of the site, so they are letting me give away 10 pairs of tickets to the screening. To put your name in the running, just send an email with INK as the subject, and your name in the body to me, and I'll chose 10 winners at random.
If you don't get free tickets, you may be able to buy tickets if they are still available here.
Despite the fact that INK has only played festivals and a limited run in Denver (where it was shot), it has already generated something of a cult following. I know in Santa Barbara some people were coming back to see it several times. I'm certainly excited to see it a second time -- in fact, this is a new cut, so I'm especially eager to see what they've done with it since I saw it in Santa Barbara.
Hope to see you there!
-Copernicus
