Hey folks, Harry here... I can't wait to hear about a whole host of original film projects - but for now, we're in a serious remake rut. It seems a day doesn't go by without some film being remade. I was actually offered a job once to be an executive in charge of remaking an entire production company's slate from the 60's & 70's. I thought about it. I knew it would mean a vast amount of money for myself, there were even projects that I felt were pretty damn interesting to tackle, but ultimately I turned the position down. I just didn't want to be in that business. Maybe, I feel there's too many great unmade films to contribute remaking films that had already been made as well as they can? Possibly. But remakes are a natural extention of told tales. After all, isn't a good tale worth telling? Well, only if that good tale worth telling was told at least as well as when first heard. Sadly, that isn't often the case. Anyway, sorry about the long intro, but something about this set of remakes really got to me.
