ScoreKeeper & Lakeshore Records Introduce You To A New Video Interview Feature!! Today - APPALOOSA Composer Jeff Beal!!
Greetings! ScoreKeeper here attempting to satiate the aural appetites of film music lovers the world over with the launch of a brand new composer interview video series courtesy of Lakeshore Records (website HERE).
Starting…now, Ain’t It Cool News will serve as the exclusive new home for Lakeshore’s continuing video interview series promoting many of their latest soundtrack releases.
Let’s face it. Special features on DVDs are super-cool but there aren’t as many focusing on the music behind the film as there should be. These five to eight minute video interviews will offer you an interior stare into various film scores with insights by the artists who authored them.
To inaugurate the new series, I’ve hand picked an interview with Jeff Beal, composer of my second favorite score of last year, APPALOOSA (2008) [details HERE]. If you haven’t already become familiar with this superlative score, now is your chance to let Jeff introduce it to you. He’ll take you through a brief history of the score, the challenges he faced, and the inspiration behind its creation.
Frankly, I can’t get enough of this stuff. The only slightly disappointing thing about this new series is that the interviews are relatively brief. Perhaps there should be a new Film Music Channel (HD of course) where composer interviews such as these run ad nauseam. Until then, we’ll just have to make do with what we got. I’d like to thank Lakeshore Records for the great work and look forward to more interviews in the near future.
The soundtrack for APPALOOSA is available at both Amazon.com [HERE] and iTunes [HERE].
Enjoy this interview with Jeff Beal and be on the lookout for the next video to be posted in the upcoming weeks.
