Hey folks, Harry here, and ya know.... Looks like SPACE COWBOYS is almost set to start lensing. We've been covering this one for a while (Here's an Earlier Story!) meanwhile with a cast like: Clint Eastwood, Tommy Lee Jones, James Cromwell, William Devane, James Garner, Marcia Gay Harden, Renee Olstead , Donald Sutherland, Toby Stephens and Courtney B Vance... well, gosh... We have to be a bit excited. Though I remember the days when Harrison Ford was rumored to be attached to this on... and Sean Connery.... Ahhhh.... Oh well, it still rocks.

I work for a government agency in Houston, Texas, and earlier this week I was contacted by Craig A. Busch (Assistant Locations Manager) from Warner Bros.' upcoming production of 'Space Cowboys', directed by and starring Clint Eastwood along with Tommy Lee Jones and Donald Sutherland. Mr. Busch told me that filming will begin on Friday, August 6 in Houston on 'Space Cowboys' with much of the cast in attendance. Most of the filming will be in and around Houston, specifically at NASA's Johnson Space Center (Clear Lake, Texas) and Ellington Field (just south of Houston and also near Clear Lake). 'Space Cowboys' is the story of some older, retired astronauts who are called out of retirement to go on a special mission to stop a crippled satellite from falling back to Earth.

On Friday, August 13, the cast and crew will be filming a scene in a parking lot near the University of Houston-downtown campus on Main Street. The filming of this scene will begin at approximately 8:00 p.m. and conclude at approximately 3:00 a.m. (Saturday, August 14). The crew is asking the maintenance staffs of many of Houston's downtown high-rise buildings to keep the lights on in the buildings for the filming of this scene for the spectacular background of downtown Houston.

So, if any of your Houston area Ain't-It-Cool-News fans want to catch a glimpse of Clint ("Make my day!") Eastwood, Tommy Lee Jones or Donald Sutherland while they're in Houston filming 'Space Cowboys', pass this along to 'em!
