Wow. The 4000th story to run on Ain't It Cool News... But, ya know that's not really true. Ya see about a year and a half to two years ago when I moved to the aint-it-cool-news.com address... well my previous site host decided to just ERASE my first year and a half worth of work. Now I burn to CD-ROMS every story... but back then... I was dumb and naive. Well... Gosh... 4000 stories since coming to aint-it-cool-news.com! Cool. I look forward to breaking the 100,000 barrier then the 500,000 barrier and eventually the 1,000,000 story barrier! It's been a pleasure writing and editing and talking cool films with all of you! But now... To the story of a movie called THE GEMINI MAN...

This script could suck as far as I know, but I do know enough to want to read the dang thing. This is a project called GEMINI MAN, that is hanging around the wonderful world of Disney at the moment.

It concerns a middle-aged assassin that works for some sort of governmental Black Ops organization. Turns out he's been offing people for years, and in that time... You're bound to 'learn' too much or at least get in a helluvalot of trouble somehow. Well, it turns out that about 20 years prior when he first signed up for the... Company, some scientist, a Dr Sidney Sampson, cloned him. And now... 25 years later, Alex (our assassin) is being hunted down to be murdered by his 25 year old clone. Now the fun part of this is that the part of the assassin and his younger doppleganger will be played by the same actor.

This is pretty darn cool. Personally I've always hated the 'instantly' aged clones. It don't work that way. When they did them sheep... it wasn't until it reached the age of maturity that they were... identical.

It looks like it has Don Murphy attached to produce and... well, that's not necessarily a bad thing. Sure he had a dud with DOUBLE DRAGON, but he did produce NATURAL BORN KILLERS and APT PUPIL. And I know his tastes definately lean towards the cool what with projects like: ASTROBOY, HELL HOUSE, LEAGUE OF EXTRAORDINARY MEN, THE MAN WITH THE X-RAY EYES, TRIPOD TRILOGIES and THE RECKONING; all being on his slate of productions to be produced. Personally I'd love to see someone like Russell Crowe in this film... but that's just a completely... um... needlessly kneejerk reaction to the concept. If you've heard anything more... let me know..
