Live in Chicago? Wanna see NICK & NORAH'S INFINITE PLAYLIST early? Capone has details about this Orgy of Geekness!!!
Hey folks. Capone in Chicago here. When it rains, it's pours. And we here in the Windy City should know having just had our collective asses flooded a couple weekends ago. And the special advanced screenings are flooding in as well. The truth is that publicists like the kind of audiences Ain't It Cool pulls in--our readers talk about the movies, write about the movies, and go out of their way to recommend films that they like to as many people as they can. Publicists in Austin and L.A have known this to be true for years, and thanks to a unbelievably sucessful summer series of AICN screenings--which has continued into the fall--the folks in Chicago know it too. I get requests to do contests for nearly every major release, and I try to be picky and protect you folks from the ugliness that's out there.
We'll have a couple events coming up in the next few weeks that will be exclusive AICN screenings (none of this co-mingling with the masses), a couple of which I just need you to trust me on. You may not know that much about the films, but I wouldn't have the screenings if I didn't know first hand that the movies were worthy of your attention.
None of this preamble has anything to do with our next screening adventure, which I'm fairly certain you've heard of: NICK AND NORAH'S INFINITE PLAYLIST, which will screen Tuesday, September 30 at 8:00 pm at a downtown Chicago location. Only the winners of this contest will be informed of all the screening details. I've seen this film already, and let me say that you need to put aside and ignore any comparisons between this film and JUNO or SUPERBAD. It isn't anything like either of those films. It's a gentle, understated love story that you should see with someone you love or would like to put your love upon. Since this is not an exclusive AICN screening, please do not enter this contest if you can't get to the screening early. You'll only be hurting yourself.
Here's how to win. Send me an email at capone@aintitcoolmail.com with the subject line: "INFINITE LOVE SONG PLAYLIST". In the body of the email, I need your name, whether or not you are bringing a guest (preferential treatment will be given to couples, so let me know if you are bringing a significant other; inflatable guests will not be admitted), and the TITLES OF THREE SONGS (with the artist) that are guaranteed to get you a little lovin' if played in succession.
Winners will receive an email from me with the details of the screening. I've got about 150 seats to fill for this screening, so there's plenty of room for all the sexy people reading AICN. I know you're out there; this is your turn to shine. And this is our time to turn a simple movie house into an orgy of geekness. I do not envy the crew that has to clean up after this one. Good luck! And keep a close eye out--I have another contest to announce very, very soon…maybe even tomorrow.
