I am – Hercules!!


Tonight concludes the fourth season of “Weeds,” which I deem its best since season one.

Six reasons to tune in tonight:

1) Suburban dope-pusher Nancy Botwin (Mary Louise Parker) gets the most naked ever tonight. Though the series has long trafficked in guest-star nudity, this is the first season in which Parker sheds.

2) Brother-in-law Andy Botwin (Justin Kirk) has it out with best-buddy Doug Wilson (Kevin Nealon), and comes to perhaps the most profound realization of his life. (Hint: nothing to do with homosexuality.)

3) On his 18th birthday, oldest son Silas Botwin meets the husband of the hot cheese-shop owner (Julie Bowen) he’s been boning.

4) Celia Hodes’ older daughter Quinn (Haley Hudson), who played a key role in the 2005 pilot but until last week’s episode had been essentially Chuck Cunninghammed out of the “Weeds” universe, makes her first appearance since season one and gets the best line of tonight’s episode.

5) Last week’s episode concluded with the torture of a federal agent, who – just before he was executed – revealed to murderous Tijuana mobsters that it was Nancy who told the DEA about the smuggle-tunnel to Mexico.

6) Near episode’s end, there’s a sad scene with Nancy ordering a gift basket – a scene that could nab Emmys for both Parker and series mastermind Jenji Kohan, who wrote this concluding installment.
