Universal Takes One Small Step With FIRST MAN!!
Merrick here...
Universal has acquired the rights to James R. Hansen's FIRST MAN: THE LIFE OF NEIL A. ARMSTRONG. It's about the trials and tribulations of Neil Armstrong, the first human being to set foot on the moon.
"The closer he got to the moon, the further away he became from his family," Perlman said. "He had a family tragedy before Apollo that turned him into this driven astronaut, and he became such a perfect hero that while Buzz Aldrin was announced to be the first man on the moon, NASA reversed its decision because Neil was regarded as more heroic."
...says scripter Nicole Perlman in THIS VARIETY ARTICLE.
I'm all for a good astronaut movie, and Armstrong is a fascinating (real life) character. I've always been humbled by the courage and spirit of anyone who rides rockets...the world could use more adventurers like these folks.
