NBC is said to bee close to ordering episodes of a new (so far untitled) series starring Christian Slater. The show is from Jason Smilovic (an Executive Producer on KIDNAPPED and BIONIC WOMAN). This project was originally developed as a feature film.

...is described as "The Bourne Identity" meets "Jekyll & Hyde" and centers on a mild-mannered suburban dad (Slater) who learns that his alter ego is a spy.

Not only is NBC actively drifting away from the notion of traditional television seasons (i.e. they'll be rolling out shows year-round), they're also saying "go" to series without a pilot. The new Slater series looks like it'll exemplify this new policy.
