I am – Hercules!!

AMC, which has entered the arena of original drama in spectacular fashion with “Mad Men” and the Emmy-winning miniseries “Broken Trail,” is now developing a science fiction series that may remind some a bit of “Lost.”

“99 Stories,” created by veteran screenwriter David Seltzer (“The Hellstrom Chroinicle,” “The Omen,” “Lucas,” “Bird on a Wire”), deals with a group of strangers who find themselves captured by a mysterious force inside a newly-constructed highrise.

From the Hollywood Reporter:

"The elevators are in control of (the strangers') destiny, whittling them out by deciding who they deem deserve to go up," Seltzer said.

And what happens in the sealed-off high rise has much larger repercussions. "What's going on there is not about the people trapped inside, it affects the rest of the world," Seltzer said.

It affects the rest of the world? Let’s hope this project moves beyond the development stage sooner rather than later! (We're still waiting for some forward motion on that proposed AMC series created by "Global Frequency" mastermind Warren Ellis).
