Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. On my last trip to the UK (strangely enough for the David Yates directed POTTER flick) I was recommended Yates' TV mini-series STATE OF PLAY, but I couldn't find it when scouring the DVD shops. I'm sure it was right in front of me, but I did walk out with SEVERANCE and the complete SPACED DVDs and BROTHERHOOD OF THE WOLF on HD-DVD (not available stateside), so it wasn't a complete waste.

I wanted to grab this set before my interview with Yates, but it didn't happen. As it was, ORDER OF THE PHOENIX was the first I'd seen of Yates' work, but again... I've heard nothing but amazing things about STATE OF PLAY.

Now it's getting the US treatment, but as a feature film. Brad Pitt has long been circling the project, but he's committed now as well as the other half to his personality... Edward Norton!

Norton will play a congressman whose political triumphs might be cut short when a political journalist (Pitt) investigates the death of the congressman's mistress. Tony Gilroy (The BOURNE films) wrote the screenplay and Universal and Working Title are producing.

Now I'll need to cut out the excuses and finally order the damn thing so I know what kind of goodies to expect out of the film.
