Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. Now, the first time I read "ENTER THE DRAGON remake," I said, "What the fuck? Are they serious?" Thoughts ran through my head... like, "No one can take Bruce Lee's place, why would they even try?"

Then I read a little more. Kurt Sutter, behind THE SHIELD (a helluva show, by the way) was to write the script and make his directorial debut. Okay... interesting choice... but still...

Then I read a little further to find that Sutter describes it a noir-ish retelling. That's actually a little interesting...

The remake is called AWAKEN THE DRAGON and will follow an FBI agent who pursues a Shaolin monk into a bloody underworld of martial arts style fight clubs.

Sutter also says that this monk will be a star-maker role for an unknown while the FBI agent will be an established American actor.

On the one hand, it's an interesting way to redo the movie, but on the other why not just make it its own movie and not draw the comparisons to the original?

Whatever, as long as they put Jim Kelly in there somewhere, I'll be okay with it. Sutter's work on THE SHIELD is great, so he's got some slack with me.
