THE BOOK OF LOST THINGS - Monsters, Kids and WW2?!?

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. I gotta admit, this sounds pretty damn cool to me. WW2 setting... kids in danger... monsters? I'm not familiar with John Connolly's novels, but I might have to pick this one up... it's called THE BOOK OF LOST THINGS and it has been optioned by John Moore's Point Road Productions.

The flick is about a 12 year old boy living through WW2 who escapes into a fantasy world when his mother dies and his father remarries. Sounds a bit like the little boy version of PAN'S LABYRINTH to me and I wish it was a world where monsters did exist, not just appear through a young boy's imagination. Maybe they do. I don't know the book.

John Moore did the rather lifeless and dull remake of THE OMEN, which doesn't inspire much confidence. Still, I'm curious. I hope I dig the book because it has definitely been added to the queue.
