Orson Scott Card's EMPIRE Joins Poor ENDER At Warner Bros!!
Merrick again...
Orson Scott Card's novel EMPIRE has been targeted for development by Joel Silver & Warner Bros.
Set in the near future, the novel casts an America in chaos. The assassination of the president and veep plunges America into civil war and a team of special forces operatives try to unravel the conspiracy and save the country. The book was published last year.

The project joins ENDERS GAME at Warner Bros, which has somehow been assigned to languish in confounding & seemingly endless development for Wolfgang Petersen. Maybe we need to start a "Free Ender!" movement of some sort...pattern it after an Amnesty International campaign.
Hope this doesn't sound too anarchistic or unpatriotic of me, but I'm truly, deeply fascinated by tales of America being pushed to an internal breaking point in some way. RED DAWN...the oft-forgotten ABC miniseries AMERIKA...JERICHO (yyyyyeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh baby!)...and others.
