The trailers on FORCES OF NATURE have just left me a bit cold... I'll still see it, but gosh... I'm not as excited as I should be... Anyway here's BoogieGirl with news on that and Ollie Stone's next flick...

First time writing in. Just call me Boogie Girl. Two things: I saw the premiere for "Forces Of Nature" on Friday in L.A. and some rumblings from Oliver Stone's NFL movie "The League" (A.K.A. "Any Given Sunday.") 1) "Forces of Nature" was o.k. Ben Affleck looked amazing and showed he could carry a romantic comedy. Sandra Bullock, who used to really annoy me, was good, too. Maura Tierny was very whiny and cloying. The bridesmaid, whose name I don't remember, was the best though. She was your typical bitchy girl, and trust me I know a lot of girls like her! There were actually some very funny scenes, like when Ben Affleck has to strip at a gay club. The audience was laughing hysterically. But, as usual, the movie was very inconsistent and unrealistic. I mean no one would hold a wedding if a hurricane was coming. I live in Miami and when hurricanes come, the whole town boards up. In the movie, they actually try and go through with the wedding in the midst of the storm. That would never happen. But the worst was the ending. I don't mean to spoil it for anyone, but he decides to stay with boring Maura Tierny over wild and spunky Sandra Bullock. What a tease! The whole movie flirts with the chemistry between Bullock and Afleck and really shows Tierny in a boring light. And then suddenly, he falls back in love with her because she's in a wedding dress and is stranded on a balcony. I didn't find it believable. Or maybe I just wanted to see him with the free spirit. 2) As for the skinny on Oliver Stone's movie filming in Miami, Oliver told me it is probably the most difficult movie he has ever made. Tension is very high on the set due to the long hours and difficult shoots. A lot of the staff has gotten fired, too. In fact, about 3 weeks ago, a fight broke out between two of the co-stars: LL Cool J and Jamie Foxx. Foxx actually had to go to the hospital as a result of the fracas. And as to the published reports about Cameron Diaz and Oliver Stone being romantically involved in the National Enquirer, Diaz has been linked with Jared Leto and Ed Norton. But, everyone on the set has been partying it up at places like Joia, Bar Room, The Living Room, Groove Jet and Tantra. And when this movie is released it is going to piss off a lot of people in the NFL!!!!!!
