Who Is SPANKY!?
Hey, everyone. ”Moriarty” here.
And why did I just hear Guillermo Del Toro’s heart break a little bit?
Man, I remember when Guillermo was working his ass off to set up an adaptation of Christopher Fowler’s novel SPANKY. Guillermo’s version was called MEPHISTO’S BRIDGE, and it was one of several films (like MONTE CRISTO and THE LIST OF SEVEN) that he was attached to that have seemingly fallen to the side over the years. MEPHISTO’S BRIDGE, in particular, was loved by the people who read it but seemingly impossible to get off the ground, even with Martin Scorsese attached to produce.
Now it seems that someone else is taking a crack at it, and you can read the details below:
Hi Guys
just in case you missed this.
Big news.
Variety’s report
Fangoria’s coverage
The producer of THE SIGNAL teams with UK creatives to bring you a film based on the bestselling novel by UK horror writer Chris Fowler!
