The Tri-Lams get booted off campus. NERDS remake shut down!

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. It's been known for a couple weeks that the REVENGE OF THE NERDS remake has been running into some choppy water. In fact, the wonderful Alamo Drafthouse had a special revival screening of the original 1984 classic with Curtis Armstrong, the immortal Booger himself, in person just a few days ago and at the Q&A Armstrong pretty much said the remake was permanently shelved.

I was never a fan of the idea of remaking NERDS, but according to Armstrong, the script was harsh, politically incorrect and not afraid to push the boundaries of taboo... Which didn't sit well at the two Universities they've tried to set up shop at. So, when I finally find myself getting interested in the remake, it kicks the bucket.

However, Armstrong was also quick to say he wasn't a fan of the idea of remaking NERDS and, according to Variety, Fox Atomic's Peter Rice didn't like the dailies coming in. So, the flick is now officially pushing up daisies, which might be for the best.
