apple.com has posted a trailer for THE GOOD GERMAN.

See George Clooney looking heroic! Cate Blanchett looking vixenly! Tobey Maguire looking pissed! It has the STARGATE SG-1 General Guy in it, too! He plays a Colonel here. Took him a long ass time to make General, I guess.

This is directed by Steven Soderbergh (a name I may someday be able to spell correctly), from a screenplay by Paul Attanasio (based on a novel by Joseph Kanon). It's set in Post-World War II Germany. Should be cool in principle, but I'm not digging the feel of this yet. The black & white seems...what?...too sharp and pure, maybe? Like it's going for noir but it's too punched up to get there, maybe? Also, that shot of the airfield is kind of 'blech'...has an EPISODE I look to it. Needs a touch more rendering, or something.
