Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. As I type this my little brother is here watching BRICK. I just found out he hasn't seen it yet, so I whipped out my DVD and threw it on. BRICK is a great flick, one of the best films I saw last year and Rian Johnson's direction and, especially, his screenplay are a huge reason for the success of the film.

I heard Johnson had a new project working its way around Hollywood and I wanted to read it. A few contacts within a few unnamed agencies were alerted and soon I had the screenplay for THE BROTHERS BLOOM. I'm happy to say that it is just as strong as BRICK was, but in a completely different world. The only similarities it shares is that the characters are all interesting, all the dialogue sharp and whole thing is fresh. I'll have a slightly more detailed script review soon, but the short version is it's great.

And now the first bit of casting has been announced, noneother than the future Mrs. Quint, Rachel Weisz. She's playing the female lead, Penelope, in this con man flick. That casting is great, but the casting of the two con artist brothers has yet to be locked down... there are tons of great supporting characters, too.

Weinstein Bros are distributing the flick worldwide, CAA is selling the North American distribution rights and Endgame Entertainment has raised over $20 million for the flick, which will jump all around Europe.

Like I said, I'll come back soon with a script review which will be more indepth, but I promise I won't spoil the twists and turns of the flick. Keep your eye out for that!
