Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with a little tidbit on an original script by David Hubbard (NOEL) bought by New Line called GOD, THE DEVIL AND LUCY. The story sounds a little bit like the romantic comedy version of OH GOD, YOU DEVIL. You have God and The Devil who are tired of always fighting for souls, so they decide on a winner takes all contest. They pick a single woman on whom they both agree to and then they both take mortal forms, without any of their supernatural powers, and try to woo her. Whoever gets her to say, "I love you," wins.

New Line paid a hefty sum for this pitch and the studio is going forward with it now. Doesn't sound like my cup of tea, but then again I'm insane. I actually like OH GOD, YOU DEVIL (I mean, in what other film does God beat the devil by lying?), so maybe I'll find more to like in this flick than I should. If they get some really charismatic people to play the three title characters this could be cute. What do you folks think?
