Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. Looks like ANCHORMAN duo Adam McKay and Will Ferrell have signed a first-look producing contract with Paramount Vantage who are interested in the pair bringing them $10-$20 million flicks to ram into production. Now, this contract isn't to get more ANCHORMANs or Ferrell starring comedies, but what the pair of them want to see made.

These films will be put out by Paramount Vantage which is already prepping both THERE WILL BE BLOOD from Paul Thomas Anderson as well for the next flick from The Coen Bros called NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN. They claim to be looking for "high concept comedies." I love me my Will Ferrell, but I don't automatically associate him with high concept comedy. But I do trust that he knows what's funny and what will work, so I will certainly look forward to what he and McKay find for us.
