I SPY With My Little Eye Famke Janssen, Sweet As Pie!!
Hey, everyone. "Moriarty" here with some Rumblings From The Lab.
One of my many future ex-wives, Famke Janssen, is back in action after getting sidelined from MEN IN BLACK 2. Sony allowed her to leave the film for personal reasons, and now that she's resolved them, The Dutch Treat is back in business in I SPY, opposite Eddie Murphy and Owen Wilson.
I hope this film is smart enough to give both Murphy and Wilson room to shine. Wilson is one of the most charismatic comic performers working right now, odd and original, and his energy could be outstanding opposite Murphy. I'd love to see this casting pay off in the way it could, and I SPY is a simple enough premise to hang some hope on. I don't have any great affinity for the original, and I doubt you'll need an exhaustive store of trivial knowledge about the show to enjoy the new film.
All I want is fun and this story in VARIETY seems to indicate that they're on the right track for now.
