Published at:  Aug 14, 2001 4:01:19 PM CDT

Hey folks, Harry here... Well we've got quite some time before we start seeing footage from this baby... looks like it won't be hitting till sometime next summer, but right now... take a look at tourist photos from San Miguel de Allende and the set of ONCE UPON A TIME IN MEXICO!!! Here ya go....

Hi Harry,

A friend of mine was vacationing in Mexico in July and stumbled upon the set
of Robert Rodriguez's new film, Once Upon a Time in Mexio. She had never
heard of Ain't It Cool News, but I convinced her to let me send you the
pictures she took. There are pictures of her with Danny Trejo and Johnny
Depp as well as some of Trejo walking around and one of Antonio Banderas.
Finally, there are four pictures of Banderas' and Salma Hayek's stunt doubles
working on a stunt. I hope you and Robert Rodriquez fans everywhere enjoy
this preview.

  • is actually a male. I'm just curious about how frequently moviemakers use female stunt doubles, these days.

Didn't Danny Trejo's character die in Desperado?

    by 0101010

Not that I'm averse to having more shots of an Hispanic Hercules throwing little daggers of love all over the place? And who could forget the way he had to work his mouth around the words "Titty Twister"...

    Mariachi & Leone

    by plenty o'toole

Trejo's character DID in fact die in Desperado, but this third installment of the Mariachi series is not a continuation or even technically a sequel. Rodriguez is fashioning this series as a clone of Leone's Dollars trilogy... plot lines aren't carried over, actors from the previous film play different roles in the next, so on and so forth (Selma Hayek's a knife throwing villain in this new one). Very much like a Spaghetti Western.
