Trailer Premiere: Bill Paxton's FRAILTY!

Published at:  Jul 31, 2001 2:39:01 PM CDT

Greetings, citizen geeks! HREF=mailto:robogeek@robogeek.com>ROBOGEEK here with the teaser trailer to Bill Paxton's feature film directorial debut, FRAILTY!

Thanks to the good folks at Lions Gate Films and Apple's QuickTime Trailer team, we've got the first peek at this film, which stars Matthew McConaughey and Bill Paxton.

It's a one-minute teaser, and is posted in "auto-detect" mode, which means the size/resolution you get is dependent on the connection speed you have listed in your QuickTime preferences (ergo: the better the connection, the better the trailer).

Enjoy,

P.S.: FYI, check out the official FRAILTY website. There isn't much there yet, but I'm told more is coming soon...

    Winter 2002!!!!

    by mildewproduction

Why put a trailer out so early, especially for a little niche film that isn't going to reach the masses.

This is ridiculous, even Godzilla didn't start marketing this early.

Why WOULDN'T you watch this trailer

    by maxcalifornia.

Yes it does have Bill Paxton in it, and any rational individual who's seen One False Move, Traveler and A Simple Plan knows that he does his best work in smaller indie flicks. I've got this one pegged as a must-see sleeper.

I saw the last twenty minutes of "Frailty."

Its Bill's first outing as a director and he's done a great job. This was at a sound test for flaws and there was action galore, explosions and a cool Johnny Cash end credit song. Paco's done a great job with what I saw. Just hope you don't get fucked by Lion's Gate, Bill. They're lions in sheeps clothing.

    Max is Right

While most people unfortunately pigeonhole Bill as "the guy from Twister and Mighty Joe Young", I've been a huge fan since I was a kid. He was great in 'Aliens', sure, but if you want to see him shine, "A Simple Plan", "Traveller" and "One False Move" are all BEAUTIFUL performances in equally strong movies. The man is a great actor, through and through.
And I've always had a place in my heart for "Near Dark" and "The Dark Backward" as well.
And then there's Martini Ranch! Yep, Bill has got the talent. I'm very excited about this!

    Wha? Niche flick?

    by dirty_bird

God, i hope this gets a wide release, or have it at least play at a theatre somewhere here in my town, this looks like a GREAT movie. I'll be pissed if I can't see it on the big screen.

    Simon rocks

    by maxcalifornia.

If they ever do a True Lies 2, then Simon has to come back. In fact I think the entire plot should revolve around Simon...like Arnold discovers that for some reason he has to train Simon to become a superspy. Hell, Arnold doesn't even have to be in it, it can just be a movie about Simon trying to score with babes for two hours. I'd be so there.

Winter 2002 means Jan, Feb., or March...

    by capt. hilts

What they mean is Jan, Feb. or March 2002, .... NOT December. Relax.

SIMON? WHAT ABOUT CHET AND HICKS?

    by movie writer

SIMON would be a classic role, if it were not for his role as Chet in Weird Science and Hicks in Aliens. Of course Chet is the immortal character.
