Father Geek here with our ace reporter in Italy, Robert Bernocchi, and he takes an advance peak at the fantastic Venice Film Festival for all of us. As usual there is an outstanding lineup of great films awaiting the attendees of this wonderful fest...

Today I've been at a press conference of the Venice Film Festival (29 of july - 08 of september). This year there will be two different competitive sections, Venezia 58 and Cinema del presente.

Dust by Milcho Manchevski (out of competition) will be the movie which will open the Festival.

Eric Rohmer will receive a Golden Lion for his career and will present his latest pic L'Anglaìse et le Duc.
