Let me tell you how much I loved this film

    by sportup

I loved it so much that I after vowing for years not to join the legions of talkbackers, I actually signed up, solely to sing the Praises of Kevin Smith's latest. I suspect I'll never chime in again after this. I digress. Just saw the film in Seattle, and Thanks to Kevin Smith and his cast a crew for saving our summer films this season. Great job, and please extend my thanks to your friends and staff. I intend on seeing it again, a few more times when it's released. Thanks again for the 7 years of laughs.

    ROCK!!!

    by coop

I can't wait. On the subject of saving the video, while you are still on the page, go to your temporary internet files folder with your windows explorer and find it there. Then right click on the file and choose "copy". Then open up another folder (My documents or whatever) and right click again and choose "paste". That should do it. enjoy.

You evil yank-centric bastards. And Kevin - any news on my tickets for the UK premier? There's a dear - I'll get you a nice cuppa in exchange (I would say a pint, but as you're not a beer fan... Oh well)

    by batutta

For me personally, a little Jay & Silent Bob goes a long way. I could barely tolerate them in Dogma, and the thought of an entire feature devoted to them does not appeal to me.

Eliza, almost reason enough to see a film. And there's also that little fact of Jay and Silent Bob. Next to Made, this is the movie I'm anxious for.

    Smith to the unpith

    by alec cawthorne

I not all up in the Kevin Smithology that his very well defined target demographic seems to be, but I truly hope the rumor/fact of this film being his last of its kind will be true.
I grant that the man is a pretty good screenwriter (especially of dialogue), but his repeated insistance to play down important themes (wage slavery/suburban ennui/(homo)sexuality/religion vs. faith) for an abudance of what is usually referred to as 'dick and fart' jokes, is really pissing me off.
--Chasing Amy is the only film of his I truly admire - perhaps because those kind of jokes are inherent to the focus on sexuality that the film displays.
--While I'm all for the sub-genre of 'religious-comedy' (see Luis Bunuel), Smith's comments on religion and faith in Dogma (which I was utterly diappointed with, both thematically and comedically) seemed to be, again, subsumed by the need? to play down to his ever growing audience of idolators. Whether he realizes it or not, Smith has become for Miramax, what his own Mooby was for the company he so chastized in Dogma; a predictable cash cow.
--I just wish, with the audience he has molded into place, that Smith would surprise his detractors with a serious piece of cinema.
--Maybe he just prefers to do what he's been doing, and obviously that's fine for a whole lot of people, but if he really is hanging up his 'Jersey' set of characters for good - it'd be nice to see him make a fresh start with something completely, surprisingly unexpected....One would think he has the market share to attempt such a thing.

Jay and Silent Bob do suck...

    by nverman

Sorry...I am not prone to extended bouts of negativity, but I have only seen one worth-while film from Smith and that was Chasing Amy. The rest are in the true spirit of Dogma's Shit Demon...total and utter shite. I saw the trailor on the big screen a few days ago in front of JPIII and the reaction from the packed audience was unanimous: sucked, stupid, boring, poorly-acted, painful to watch even this brief glimpse of a pointless waste of celluloid, and whatever other epithet-laden insult you can bear to hurl its way. There was nary a sound heard after its viewing, probably because most people felt embarrassed that something so crappy could find its way to the big screen. Some 20-something guys behind me asked a question worth answering: Why in hell is a movie being made starring Kevin Smith' most annoying characters, Jay and Silent Bob? Fact is, few will see this, and even fewer will dig it.

Not the biggest Kevin Smith fan in the world, although I've seen all the New Jersey stuff. Looks hilarious though and I'm definetly looking forward to it. Good to see that he's got some money.

    by horus

...his little cinematic world seems to be imploding. It looked like he tried to do something new with Chasing Amy.But now he's reduced to Jay and silent Bob, as his only means of support! Is he still going to be milking the idea when theyre both old men.

  • Kev, if you're reading this stuff, don't get discouraged, it's not your fault all these hateful sons of bitches are blasting your movie. Frankly, they can kiss my ass, but that's not the point. Whoever cut the trailer did a crappy, hackjob. Dimension clearly doesn't know how to promote this movie, as evidenced in that abomination. Not being able to promote the movie? Oh, yeah, that sounds familiar... MALLRATS. Don't let another Mallrats happen, and get this thing under control, before bad promotion kills it.

This proves Kevin Smith peaked with Chasing Amy

    by pathsofglory

Stunningly unfunny. Shockingly amateurish. This proves the skills of Kevin Smith were exhausted with Chasing Amy. Usually, a trailer for a comedy shows you the best parts, but if this is the sum of Strikes Back, the total equals zero. I am amazed at how utterly lame this movie looks. Have fun bombing at the box-office Smith; you're becoming quite adept at it.

The trailer doesnt leave a lot for the movie

    by spicka

Bah! I really am desparate to see this movie but after all the teasers and trailers that have been released I really can't see that many BIG surprises in the movie. Christ, we have all heard about the star-wars-type fighting action that happens and little bits here and there from selected interviews etc, but this trailer quite frankly seems to give away just a bit too much. The thing is as well, the last trailer worked a lot better. This one isnt as funny (with the exception of the Jay-in-the-cafe clip) and gave away a hell of a lot less. Now it's kinda like knowing what your Xmas present is months before the big day and just putting up with a bit of a dull wait before you get to play with it.

And Harry, would you cut it out with this irritating pop-up advertising crap. Stick an extra banner down the bottom of the page or something, this is getting rediculous. Advertising is annoying it it's own righ most of the time, but not as fucing annoying as having to close 8 explorer windows everytime you browse AICN.

Jay and SIlent Bob Strike Back Rocks!!!

    by slop reilly

I saw "Jay and SIlent Bob" last weekend at the San Diego Comic Con. Let me assure all of you who are worried by less than stellar trailers, that "Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back" is the funniest and best Kevin Smith movie ever. Kevin admitted himself that the trailers aren't that great but were designed to pull in the non Jay and Silent Bob fan. I wont give away any spoilers, but will say that the story is ingenious. Kevin finds a way to not only bring back just about every character from past movies, make reference to pop culture, including a very subtle and very funny joke about "Land of the Lost" and "Purple Rain", but also finally explain Jay and Silent Bob's cameo in Scream 3. THe jokes were laugh out loud, and in my opinion this is the best movie of the year so far, definitely the funniest movie of the year, and personally to me...one of the funniest movies I have ever seen. The ending of this movie is hysterical and must be seen to believed. Kevin Smith saved the best for last, and found a great way to send Jay and SIlent BOb off into the sunset. LAstly, this movie does have a message, and ironically might be one made especially for all us fuck who post on talkback. It is that people should not critize or bash what they have neither seen nor know a damn hing about. Go see "Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back"! Snootch to the Nootch.
