Vin Diesel In TERMINATOR 3!!! Confirmed!!!
Hey folks, Harry here.... Well, most friends I talk to seem to feel that Vin Diesel is destined to be our next major domestic Action God (though from what I hear in Mexico... Johnny Depp may be set for Action God-dom). Now... here's the situation, the pre-Jonathon Mostow attached as director script sucked... However, I really really like and have faith in Mostow... BUT... I hope he has the sense to have Vin Diesel defeat the hell out of the Arnie model... Vin needs to be ruthless deadly and kill characters we care about and have an attachment for. Ultimately John Connor should defeat the evil Terminator... It should be in Furlong's hands... That's my take anyways... Linda should die... Furlong should live and get that badass scar across his face! Well, that's my take.
I've just heard Vin Deisel talking on (UK) Century Radio. Apart from
talking about films & TV he talked about his role as the T-1G in Terminator
3. He went on to say that the Terminator franchise is fantastic and he
can't wait to be in the same films as his hero Arnie. What was interesting
was his genuine delight at the script, he said it was just phenomenal and
that he loves the playing the Bad Ass. Finally he said that Jonothan Mostow
would be the director (you knew that) and that the kid who played the
destined leader John Connor in T2 would also return, that was about it.
I personally loved the first two films, especially T1. Ever since T2 I have
hoped for T3, but only with Jim Cameron directing, and Linda Hamilton
showing up. That's not going to happen now...but hey we all get to see Vin
Deisel beat the crap out of Arnie...a passing of the torch if you will ;)
Sorry I can't give you a complete transcript but I was listening and now
typing.
all the best

I thought this franchise was dead, but Vin on board could bring life back! I hope they make his eyes look like they did in Pitch Black.

we need only Joanie Laurer now. First as well????

i just wanted to express how excited i was to hear of vin's good luck . if this project ever gets up and running i look forward to seeing him kick some ass (esp if he's topless).
-
Can you believe that they were thinking of going with Famke Jensenn at one point? Man, if anybody is gonna have to beat up Arnold, it best be Vin! hell, he's already played an Iron Giant, so this shouldn't be too much of a stretch. Let's just pray that the film doesn't blow - as far as I'm concerned, the original Terminator was one of the top films of the 80's, and T2 was a heckuva lot of fun, if not as good.
-
Vin and Snipes can show em how we do it!! Hahah, just kidding. Anyway, good for Vin. He was on some interview recently and he didn't at all turn out to be the self-absorbed asshole I expected him to be.

Man, Don't Tell Me That Ah-nold Is Playing The Good Guy AGAIN.
by cowblaster
I thought Terminators were BAD GUYS! What, is Arnold demanding "Ah'll only do dis movie if ah am da good guy again, because audiences love good guys and day love Ah-nold. Hya-hya-hya!!!"
-
You know, I want Arnie to be in a good film, and I want to see another good T- but I don't think so. The terminator films have always been Cameron's babies, he created and loves the characters. No one else can do them justice. Mostow will do what he always does- make a passable action film and flush the Terminator series down the drain in the process. Does anyone else remember Batman and Robin? How about Crow: City of Angels? People should not make a sequel for sequel's sake.
-
Don't nuke your career before it's barely begun by signing on to this stupid, only-in-it-for-the-money, does-NOT-need-to-be-made POS! T2 was the perfect ending to the Terminator films. Skynet was aborted and humanity was saved. END OF FRIGGIN' STORY, O.K.?! But now there's THIS thing, created by a couple of hacks who are obviously only looking to cash in. Vin, remember what happened to Elizabeth Berkley after she signed on to SHOWGIRLS? Well, T3 IS THE MALE EQUIVILANT (i.e., pointless crap). Don't say you weren't warned when this "movie" turns into the next BATTLEFIELD EARTH.
-
This story should turn to what the future holds for these characters and us. Vin will do a good job as a robot no doubt. Need to see Skynet take over. Possibilities abound.
-
This is where promising genre actor Diesel begins to piss away his potential. Did anyone else see The Sixth Day? Did anyone else notice that Arnold was A) The worst thing about the movie, and B)Pretty damn worn and haggard? The way he's looking these days they'll have to recast him as a rubber-skinned T600 model. This whole thing reeks of gratuitous cash-in. Shame on Arnold for refusing to fade gracefully and shame on Diesel for not knowing better.
-
SET IT IN THE FUTURE! John Connor(middle aged John Connor because no one should have to pay $10.00 a screening to support Eddie Furlong's obnoxiousness)is leading the resistance army against impossible odds, endless T100 Skeletons and T1000 liquid metal guys. In the opening we find out that something fucked up and the machines became conscious and nuked the world anyway it just(obviously)didn't happen in 1995. Anyway, Connor is fatally wounded in the battle and is rushed off to a resistance med unit. The same team of guys who figured out how to program the T-100 to protect the adolescent John Connor are now working on a last ditch effort to save their leader's life. Their plan; PUT JOHN CONNOR'S BRAIN INTO THE BODY OF A T-100. It's the only way they can save him. They've been experimenting on their own with cybernetics and they've figured out a way to do it. Thus, the story comes FULL CIRCLE. In T-1 The Terminator is sent to stop John Connor from ever being born. In T-2 he is sent to protect John Connor. In T-3 John Connor is reborn AS The Terminator. So now AHNULD will be playing Connor who is now haunted by the irony of his situation. He leads the resistance in a final alamo-esque battle against the machines who have been chasing after him and his group since Connor was fatally wounded. Cast Vin Diesel, Robert Patrick, Famke Jansen or whoever the fuck to play the main big bad machine. Bottom line is John Connor dies at the end finally defeating the machines and wanting to end his life because he himself is trapped inside of one. Tragic, heroic, maybe a little similar to the end of T-2 but still a perfect way to close out the trilogy. NOW PAY ME JIM!

Terence Trent D'Arby is still more talented than anyone in the Top 40 right now and I've been waiting for new stuff from him it seems like forever. ANYWAY...this sounds better than Carrie Anne Moss (aka Geek Queen) as a female T-Whatever. Go Vin go.

*Ahem* Okay, what's the best word to use here? This film will.
by llghtst0rmer
People, PLEASE! Are we talking about the same Vin Diesel??? Vin "Makes Van Damme look like Brando" Diesel??? Plus, and I'll admit I'm biased here, but I don't need to be a bastion of objective criticism on this one... without Cameron, T3 and (gulp) T4 could *never* be as good as the first two. I mean, sure it's POSSIBLE the final shooting script could be a decent (or even -- yeah right -- a good one!) but think about it... Cameron's movies are all so good because he holds each and every one of them up to his EXTREMELY demanding levels of quality. These are not going to be his films. They're studio films. Written, directed, and produced by different people, and it's hard to believe that ANY ONE of them would have the assuredness and the dead-on, natural-born talent to make a movie as good as T1 or T2. And to imagine that all THREE of those different people can do it? And agree on it all?? Shit, I'm sorry folks, but I have YET to see any indication these movies seem promising in the least! Vin Diesel? Johnathon Mostow? Andy Vanja? Are you KIDDING ME??? Where's the good news, people? I don't get it, man; I just don't get it. Fuck Andy Vanja. Fuck him up his stupid ass. Lightstormer out.

YEAH VIN DIESEL AS AN ITALIAN MODEL TERMINATOR...SOUNDS GREAT
by sierramountain
Psyyyyych. Terminators need to be played by a blue ice eyed Aryan that remind people of a nazi. That is why Arnold and Robert PAtrick were perfect terminators. Both were Aryan. One was Austrian and the other was an Irishman. Remember Italians were incompetent hedonists during WW2. IT just wouldnt be convincing to see an Eye-talian Terminator taking care of bidnizz. Only way Vin would be convincing as a Terminator would be if he killed his victims with car bombs, toll booth shootings, and silenced gun shootings.

Remake "Any Which Way You Can" with Vin and Arnold in the Smith
by uncapie
They constantly beat the shit out of each other and become pals at the end. A new, sensitive terminator for a new, sensitive 21st century. Quiche anyone?
-
For all those who think they can't make a sequel it is very possible because James Cameron obviously had a third installment in mind (until carolco shut their doors and the rights were sold).
Near the end when Arnold fought the T-1000 and got his ass whopped Arnold's arm gets caught in one of the factories machines. To get out of this situation he takes his own arm off which is never to be seen again and which is the way the sequel can and obviously will be made.
Now hopefully this movie will rock not suck!!
-
I'm still crossing my fingers on that one. Otherwise, I guess I
have no choice but to hope that this T3 doesn't suck. Please, oh
please, oh please don't suck. Snoogans. -

This is how T3 should be done: Arnie is too old to kick any real ass these days, so get him to play the head scientist at the final stages of Skynets evolvement. This explains why the Terminators look like him. He realises what is happening and helps JC try to stop it. It goes ahead anyway, and we get to watch the world get detonated, Nice. Then Arnie helps to get Reese sent back to the past, just before he is killed by a Terminator that looks like a younger version of himself. Bingo!

The machines have already tried twice, and failed twice to eliminate John before he comes a threat, so I don't wanna see that story again. Cool once, cool twice, but 3 times would suck... btw, it appears that the female terminator idea is in the trash can now? Thank fuck for that. I mean, we had thrown names around like Linda Fiorentino in the past, but then Chyna got mentioned and everything went to hell. "She" would be better off playing the Hulk or some other muscle bound freak, not a deadly, efficient killer like the T-1000 or this T-1G (whatever that can do). This role was made for Vin Diesel. And I liked him in Pitch Black. His acting was OK! Most of the time he was just kicking ass, anyway. You need to act for that?
-
I really don't know how a new generation of moviegoers will get excited at the prospect of a TERMINATOR 3 with an ageing, former box office star (Arnold)who has had a few too many bad movie flops lately (JUNIOR, JINGLE ALL THE WAY, END OF DAYS, THE SIXTH DAY). Besides Jonathan Mostow is no James Cameron. He can do nice little entertaining, tight and taut thrillers like BREAKDOWN and U-571 (larger in scope but no RED OCTOBER), but I doubt he can pull off an epic sci-fi film. If TERMINATOR 3 was released in 1995 at the most, I could see it riding Arnold's then succesful track (T2, TRUE LIES) but not now. Besides, it doesn't look like COLLATERAL DAMAGE will further Arnie's career either before T3 gets made. Vin Diesel is a good choice to get the tenenagers in, and he probably could be a real badass but a sanitized, good Terminator (Arnie) fighting Deisel doesn't appeal to me. Been there, done that.
-
It's a bad sign if Cameron doesn't want to do it. And Arnie said he would not do it unless Cameron came back. This is bullshit.
-
This Diesel guy is about as overrated as it gets. Pitch Black? Please! Mostow is not an up and coming talent. U-571 was mildly entetaining but should have been better. Just forget this movie because it's going to wind up as one of these Joel Silver-like flicks that combine 20 different screenwriters' best ideas into a giant cesspool of incoherant babble with explosions and surround sound. You know, the kind where they are doing rewrites on the day of shooting and we hear all these rumors about script problems. Wizz off. Arnold needs to link up with Milius and do the third Conan. (Please disregard Red Sonja and pretend it never happened.) Thank you.
-
There are only two ways I would like to see a T3 film made.
(1) Get James Cameron back on the project as both writer and director and give him a blank cheque and complete creative control. (2) In the event that the preceding scenario isn't possible, get a great director like Ridley Scott or Alex Proyas, pair him up with writer HARLAN ELLISON, and rename the project "Demon With a Glass Hand" or "The Soldier" (two epsidoes of the Outer Limits television series that 'influenced' the original films). Oh, yeah... I'd like to see Michael Biehn in it too! -
This is just a few things to think about. First off, for any of you who think Arnie can't still kick ass, go check out the pictures of him in Vanity Fair a few years back celebrating his 50th birthday. This guy is still the biggest badass in the industry who could probably kill me with his thumbs...so show some respect there. Plus, this is arguably the best role that has ever been written specifically for him, so his recent "dive" at the box office doesn't really apply, consider this trilogy it's own entity.
Now, what does worry me is not Vin Diesel. How many of you would have picked Robert Patrick for T@ and he ended up being perfect. What worries me is Edward Furlong. The longer they wait, the more he's going to grow up and then they have the dillema of when they set the movie. Do they still try to post date the machine wars or do they just wait for Furlong to turn thirty-five and do the movie then.
P.S. That would make Arnold like 65 and he'll still be able to kick ass.
-
Vin Diesel's career autobio should be titled "Bit Player Boy Makes Good". Should T3 be made (I liked the Comedian's convoluted but somehow feasible, pitch) Diesel's career could really take off. He'd get A-list TV stuff, rather than B-list theatrical crap (aside from SPR, anyone care to venture an entry as to which of his efforts are cinematic masterpieces? The Boiler Room? Pitch Black? The Fast and the Furious? I thought not.).++++++++ Then again, I haven't seen Robert Patrick do much memorable since T2, save an assortment of cameos and of course his Doggett character on the X-Files, only to be overshadrowed by Duchovny's return...but that's for another TB.
-
BTW, Red Sonja wasn't a Conan flick, was it? It was on TBS yesterday, and it sucks
-
This may be the only reason I watch it.
-
I had high hopes for Terminator 3 but with Vin Diesel attached it looks to be headed Direct to Video. I mean, GEEZE. Do people really like that guy?? I guess it's all in the script, though.
-
I'll not comment on Vin Diesel because I have not seen any of his movies. ( The voice in Iron Giant sounded cool though.)
As far as Terminator 3 goes, has anybody here seen Terminator 3-D at Universal Studios in Florida? James Cameron directed it and it had all the stars from T-2 reprising their roles. It was great! We finally get to see Skynet, and some of the offensive technology they use. Arnold not only has to fight off the T-1000, but some small, floating ring shaped guard-bots and one huge whopping liquid metal spider thing. It was in 3-D of course and they mixed the movie with live action. The surprise at the end...oops...spoiler coming up for those of you who want to go and see it...is when they freeze the liquid metal monster and it blows up and the theater audience is showered with droplets of cold water. Great fun. I truly hope the third movie goes well. The Terminator is one of those lucky movies that actually has a great sequel, like Bride of Frankenstein was to Frankenstein, or Godfather part 2 was to the first one. -
Are they deliberately trying to make Terminator 3 a bad film??? What's the matter with these people???... If they want another Terminator film they have to go back not forward. I wanna see a prequel to the original Terminator. I wanna see Kyle Reese as a young soldier in this bleak future. A lot of people will disagree with me, but they could even rid themselves are Arnold. Let's see the beginning of the Resistance, the horror of the automated extermination camps and a full on sci-fi war story.
-
ZeroCorpse-
Say what you want about Ernest Borginine's looks.
But, he won a best actor Oscar. I don't think Vin will doing that anytime soon.
I hope they make a T3. And with a fem T-XXXX to boot. I just wish some one truly gifted and enamored with the franchise would hop onboard if Jim Cameron won't.

Once again, I pose the question: Who will Edward Norton play in
by fitzy funk
If it goes along with many of his roles (aka Primal Fear, American History X, Fight Club) of exploring the dual nature of man, then we could be in for a surprise. On the other hand, I agreed with the poster who said this movie is being made for most of the WRONG reasons (it is). Arnold's well over the hump, and Jonathan Mostow as a replacement for James Cameron. That's a couple of FLIGHTS of stairs down in the quality filmmaker department (Breakdown was interesting, U-571 just flat out STUNK!). And for whoever said Vin Diesel should get an award for being a bit player, do your research, please. Diesel was an independent writer/director/producer/actor long before he became a Hollywood star. So I think that warrants the fact that he is adequately intelligent. Besides, anyone who saw Pitch Black should know the guy is talented.
-
I heard the plot revolves around Arnie coming coming back to steal that guy's new bionic heart they transplanted a few weeks ago. And not fer nuthin' but 'Hey Ahnuld-Maria's lookin' a little artificial herself lately.' I say it's for a trade in.
-
I hope you are a woman, because any dude as obsessed with another guy's appearence as you are must be homosexual (nothing wrong with gay folk, just making a point).some chicks think he's hot.some don't.good for them.but only gay guys or women go on this much about some dude's looks (which happen to be mainly black features(like his "broad nose" you dislike so much),so I WONDER if this is your roundabout way of saying you find all black people ugly.not an accusation.just wondering).you find him ugly.fine.get over it, or come out of the closet.and I gaurantee you this:even before the guy got famous, he was getting a thousand times more p*ssy than you could ever manage.so stop playa hating.
-
James Cameron took 'Aliens' from Ridley Scott, Irving Kershner took 'Empire' from Lucas, Jonathan Demme took 'Silence of the Lambs' from Michael Mann. Aside from 'The Terminator' movies and to a lesser extent 'Aliens' I'm not a huge James Cameron fan. Still, 'Breakdown' and 'U-571' were not very good movies, and what's-his-fuck who made them doesn't inspire a lot of confidence. Maybe Ridley Scott could direct it, and Russell Crowe could be in it - for some reason they send Terminators back to ancient Rome! Maybe we could give Rutger Hauer another chance at the big time! Maximus and the Terminator go forward in time to Los Angeles and battle Roy Batty. I watched 'Sugar & Spice' last night. 'Bring it On', 'Reservoir Dogs', and 'American Beauty' were all very entertaining films, and because 'Sugar & Spice' combined elements of all three it was the best movie ever made. 'The Terminator 1 & 2', 'Blade Runner' and 'Gladiator' are some of my very favorite action movies, so presumably if you put them all in a blender together you'd end up with the very best action movie ever, right? Have you ever put a frog in a blender? It's red and green and it goes 'Ribbit'!
-
Superman 3, Lethal Weapon 3, Jaws 3D, Beverly Hills Cop 3, Back to the Future 3... if history is any indication, T3 will almost certainly blow chunks. Still can't wait to see it, though.

Who'd have guessed back then that Cruise would be the A-list star 2 decades later? YOU CAN NEVER TELL WITH THESE THINGS. Haven't seen Fast and the Furious, but Diesel was fine in Pitch Black (IMHO) so I'm willing to give him a chance.

by tall_boy
that is basically it. The cool thing about casting Robert Patrick was his lithe and small stature, which made him a much more interesting villian to face Arnie. Disel, while pretty cool, will just make it hulking badass vs. hulking badass. And whoever said that T2 was a "steaming pile of shit" needs to have thier head examined. . .
-
Man, you suck! ok, I'm gonna go watch Army of Darkness now to make myself feel better. oh, and does anybody else think the original extended future introduciton sequence that Cameron had planed for T2 would have been fucking sweet as hell? Try to track down a script, I know its on the lazerdisc and probably on the DVD and there's probably a script on the net somewhere. recomended geek reading, John Conor sends his own father back to die. cool stuff.
-
What company would be stupid enough to provide an insurance bond for Furlong? (required on a film of this magnitude) In his state of health, he should just REST and leave Hollywood for a while! No matter who they cast, or how well it's written, I think it will be DOOMED if they keep him on board.
-
So what are they gonna do? Wait forever to get this movie made, probably about 2005, and then assume everyone forgets the fact that they are all still alive and that no nuculear war ever happened in 1997 like it was described in T2? Or is this an alternate universe or something?
-
Vin must kill all the people that we care about like that dude said...if not..the movies gonna suck! please someone contact the writers or something PLEASE!!!! thats it im done
-
I have from a very reliable source some interesting news on our next action hero to be. A fried of mine knows one of Vinnie's ex-girlfriends back before the big screen. She was telling me that she broke up with him for one reason, and one reason only. The man refused to give oral sex. Imagine that while your watching him kick Arnie's ass. Lates.
-
I wish they would adapt the "Age of Apocalypse" storyline for the big screen, he would be perfect. Unfortunately, the concept would probably leave the average movie-goer a bit confused.
-
This is my personal opinion. I think Vin Diesel will be a good addition to T3. He looks like he can kick some major ass. And lets face the cold, hard facts Arnie can't do action movies all his life. And action movies is all he has because he cant act worth crap. Sorry but its sad but true. Vin on the other hand has looks, talent and obviously intelligence. For everyone who says he can't act need to get their head examined. If he can't act then why did Steven Spielberg write a part specifically for him in SPR. (one of the most memorable movies) And his movies for the most part have been hits especially the Fast and the FURIOUS. And I dont care what any of you say but I think Vin Diesel is one of the hottest guys in the movie business. He may not seem good looking to some but to others he's hot so back off. Also in the decision between him and Chyna....Vin all the way. Chyna might scare off the actors. When she talks I can't understand much of what is being said. I can't stand to watch her for 5 minutes let alone 2+ hours. But hey thats my opinion and if you dont like it then tough. Its only an opinion!
-
What is all this shit about Vin Diesel being a bad actor? Arnie can't act for shit, and he IS the fucking Terminator! Get ten thousand grips!

excuse me ZEROCORPSE, but do you have anything better to do than moan about how ugly you think people are? i dont know what you look like but i strongly suspect that you are in no way as attractive as mr diesel. people like you are insecure because all you can do is rip the shit out of others. its pathetic. get a life, and chill out for chrissakes. all that negativity could be put into something more productive.
ps, i think its great that vin might be in the new T3, although the guy is gonna get typecast if hes not careful. mind you its a bit difficult not to if you look like he does!! lovely big man. -
So, hey, give me a break. You guys must be high or something. Vin Diesel is a terrific actor. Pitch Black would've sucked ass without him. He pretty much carried that whole movie. Plunged it right out of the toilet if you ask me. He was also good in Boiler Room. Haven't seen F & F, and I don't intend to. But hey, what do you expect from that one. You guys were asking for it for even considering going to see that one. There's only so far an actor can carry a film. Freakin' Point Break with Nascar. Yeesh! Also, whether you bums own up to it or not, James Cameron is a hugely overrated actor. My pet monkey, Bobo, could've directed Titanic if he had the money that the studios shelled out for that one. Look at any Cameron directed film, there's nothing special to any of 'em, just very good, very cool storylines. But that comes from the script. I'll give him kudos for the writing because I believe he helps with a lot of his scripts. But as a director he's aaaah, okay. Nothing spectacular, but pretty good. My point being, he's not that difficult to follow up, so why not let this other guy have a try at it. I'm sure he'll have a similar budget as what the 2nd one had. And as long as he can figure out how to work the camera and can get control of his set, he'll do just as good a job as Cameron did on the first 2. Again, Cameron's style isn't all that recognizable. There's no special directing techniques the new guy'll have to worry about following up. Nope, what'll make or break this movie will be the script. Mark my words. And maybe one other small thing. That little Furlong kid (or whatever the hell his name is). That kid sucks balls. No offense. Did anyone ever see Detroit Rock City. Aarggh. 'Kid couldn't act his way around a moist towelette. And he was annoying as shite in the 2nd Terminator. I say they bring Michael Bein (sp) back. And if I have to hear Arnold say Asta la vista, baby one more time... Arnold made a much cooler evil Terminator. Hamilton I like. But if she comes back that's great, if not, that's okay too. I don't think her character is all that essential to the plot anymore. I say they could pull this film off. They got the Vin who makes a terrific badass, and they will obviously have the money and backing (too big a franchise not to). As long as the director doesn't implode and the script's halfway decent, I think you guys will be in for something. Again, just as long as they don't try to go overly cutsie with that E.F. kid again. I think he's old enough now that this shouldn't happen. Now we just got to account for his bad acting. What's he done other than T2 and Detroit Rock City? Not much. There's probably a very good reason for that. I love the original Terminator. Two was pretty cool as a sequel. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for this follow-up.

Halloween, usually we agree to disagree on this site, but I have to say I agree with most of what you said in your talkback. I do have to ask you one thing before you make a decision on Furlong though. Go rent AMERICAN HISTORY X sometime. Furlong shares the lead with Edward Norton (who should have won best actor for this film). I agree, he was pretty weak in T2 and I wouldn't see Detroit Rock City for free. However, this movie really allowed him to show off his chops. Another movie, not particularly good, but sporting a good performance by Furlong is an indie film called PECKER which is available to rent as well. Furlong has made some horrible choices as far as commercial films go, but treat yourself to some of his lesser known work. X really is one of the best acted and cinematically creative movies of the past five years.

Anybody here actually READ the NOVELIZATION OF T2?!?!? The opening scene (not filmed, they only show a few seconds of it) if a 40 something John Conner leading the FINAL ASSAULT ON SCYNET! They break through the defenses and get into the heart of Skynet. The ONLY REASON SKYNET SENT THE TEMRINATORS BACK WAS BECAUSE IT HAD ALREADY LOST!!! Arnie was sent to kill Sara. T1000 was sent minutes later as BACKUP! The T1000 was a PROTOTYPE! John Conner and his techies find out about it all and send Reese back to be Conner's Dad (He knew, but didn't tell Reese) and then sent back Arnie to fight the T1000. So, what does that mean? It means you can tell the entire story from the nukes falling in 1997 to that final asault on Skynet. SURE WE KNOW WHO WINS IN THE END, BUT THE ONLY CHARACTERS WHO have TO SURVIVE ARE REESE AND CONNER. EVERYONE ELSE IS EXPENDABLE, INCLUDING SARA. They can NOT have a GOOD Arnie in this film. They shouldn't have Arnie. PERIOD. They should have big machines like miniature tanks rounding up the survivors into Concentration Camps and start the film with young John Conner leading a revolt in one of the camps and starting the revolution. And remember, the first Terminators were RUBBER and were easily detected. The Arnie models didn't come out until LATER. There is a GOOD story to tell if they've got the balls to tell it.

None of you remember that at the end of T2 skynet was destroyed; thereby eliminating all reason for any terminator to be built. Another sequel would be a huge contradiction

Kind of like Exorcist 2, Beverly Hills Cop 3, Jaws 3D and pretty much any cash in direct to video horror sequel to a pretty good original (Hellraiser, Candyman, Pumkinhead and even Species all had revoltingly bad sequels that are best ignored and forgotten), sure if it's made I'll see it but I'll be damned if I let it's existence taint the previous (classic) films. Watch it once, hope for the best, discover it's shite, then ignore it for the rest of time, thats my plan for films like this. ******************************************************************** The biggest problem with this film is that it's being made for every wrong reason in the book. Arnie needs a hit (badly) to kick start his a list paycheck status, the studio wants to dip back into the possible franchise will inbuilt audience well again, the director just wants to helm a major film, and no one seems to give a rats about what has come before or cares about the fact that the first two films worked not only because of their cool visuals, but because they had two hollywood rarities (these days) to them, they had story and character, and they worked on both levels, plus on top of that they had the icing of cool action and visuals. This time around it sounds like they are just interested in the visuals, screw the pesky story and character complexities, any old reusable hackneyed crap will do to fill in those gaps, and as we all predict, it'll be their downfall. Although all that said I guarantee that T3 will still rake in a fortune regardless of quality (or lack of it) and thats the reason that they don't seem to worry about script or character, just so long as there's plenty of lush CGI icing on the cake to use as a selling point. Maybe I'm just overly cynical these days, but I just don't forsee this going anyplace but bad. ******************************************************************** There is some talent in the project, but there's just no great visionary to lead it all in the right direction, and that is what a project like this needs more than anything else. T3 needs someone with their own distinct vision of where we should go next and wht should happen, not a director that just seems like he's going to get the shots and do what he's told. I mean don't get me wrong, Mostow is an okay director (I quite liked Breakdown, and U-571 had it's moments but just didn't have the scope, visuals or excitement to fulfil it's premise), and Arnie, like it or not is a bona fide screen icon with genuine screen presence (he clearly *really* needs someone to pick better vehicles for his "talents" and needs to expand his horizons on film though), while Vin, although not the most talented of actors, like Arnie has that badass presence down pat which has been serving him well of late, but I forsee lots of ego clashes on set with these three, with Mostow not coming out on top. Arnie is going to be Mr Control, Vin is going to try and look after whats best for Vin, and Mostow is just going to get the shots and try to make everyone else happy, while the writers are even lower on the totem pole that that. Overall I just can't see a great film coming out of all of that, and a good film just isn't going to be enough to satisfy in this case. ******************************************************************** With the right director or at least with one person in control that has a clear, defined vision of where to take the story next (something that doesn't involve accountants and studio projections or "just lots of cool explosions and cgi") this could work, even without Cameron's involvement (although it'd still be iffy), but with this line up and the way things seem to be shaping up it smells a lot like Batman And Robin to me. I hope for the best, but expect the worst.

Vin Diesel is mixed race.you do know what that means don't you.it means that he (in the eyes of the world) is seen to be a black man and has legitimate claim to being black.so you hate black features on black men or mixed race men.check.just because he has an Italian name, and does'nt bleep on about his ethnicity all the time does'nt make him a white man.are you blind or stupid, cause it's fairly obvious that he is not fully caucasian as you seemed to think.I'm not particularly bothered by the fact that you find him ugly.the fact that you have to mention it in several posts leads me to think you are either gay or a fairly insecure physically ugly individual who has time to spend on the net calling others ugly, while the guy who you diss is probably getting several blowjobs from some hot blondes right now.no one cares if you call him a bad actor or say his movies suck.but this apparent obsession with his looks is the behavior of a 13 year old girl or a friendless dope on the internet with no social life and even less self esteem.

is what most of you are. I'm truly convinced that this place is populated by underachieving losers who pick on others' success. I'm not a fan of this Vin Diesel, I haven't seen The Fast and the Furious and I have no intention of watching it, nor have I seen any of his movies. However, there must be a reason why producers are picking him for this coveted role. He launched Fast and the Furious wide, so he's obviously got an appeal, whether you agree with that or not. Are you going to allow this role land into Freddie Prinze Jr.? This place can be really strange sometimes. Success stories like this always attract fanboys posting bullshit, while the rest of the talkbacks are empty. Look at the Britney Spears news last week getting a kilometer long no. of posts.

what a waste of energy posting such reprimand to a childish behavior which ZERO CORPSE has nothing but posted in the past. The truth is, when somebody posts such insults to an actor they don't even know personally, IT IS MOST CERTAINLY ABOUT JEALOUSY, which makes me like Vin Diesel even more, since he provokes such behavior.
-
but then again, there isn't much to choose from these days. Vin can fill up the gap for now.. he'll be cool.
-
i agree its probably a waste of time to bother replying to zerocorpse, but hey, its difficult to resist. but probably best not to as its what he/she wants. still, its all about jealousy as you say.
-
For god's sake, the man's nose has nothing to do with his acting ability! I think Vin is a fine actor and he can pull off any role that is thrown his way.
-
I think that Vin Deisel Is the most gorgeous man i have ever laid my eyes on! I have loved him for a long time! He looked so sexy in Pitch Black and he dose any way. WELL DONE VIN I AM SO PROUD OF YOU! keep it up.

Well firstly whats everyones point on T3, alot of the mentioned where great films of their times and now are re-called upon as "classics"... Fortunatly ive been eagerly watching the progress of this film from its definition as a "may happen, not sure" to a heres a (A-LiST) Cast!!!
MY point being whats wrong with Deisel, he has attitude, he has the built and he actually has talent, I mean this guy ravishes on the whole baddie possibly goodie turned!!!
