Pair of Images From The Set Of ONCE UPON A TIME IN MEXICO!!!
Hey folks, Harry here... Well there's only two more days of shooting left on ONCE UPON A TIME IN MEXICO, but don't think that Robert is going to have time to kick back and relax... Rodriguez has become one helluva motivated filmmaker. He's putting the finishing touches on SPY KIDS: SPECIAL EDITION for re-release this August.... And he's working through pre-production and the script for SPY KIDS 2, which he starts shooting, I believe by the end of September!!! Then when he's finished with that, he'll begin the process of editing both films at the same time. Gotta love that. Now, take a look at a pair of pics taken by papparazzi in Mexico.... Enjoy...
Hello

i can't wait for this! i was rather disappointed with the Faculty(it didn't have the same visual flair of his previous films), but now he seems back on track. Spy Kids was a cool kids' flick, and despite some bad blue screen(or is it all green now?), it was good fun. keep it up Robert! -Batty out.

by movie_junkie
This man has chosen wise career choices and has always tried to stay away from mainstream Hollywood. He's always so watchable on screen and a fantastic actor. I believe that he could have been a more dominant force in Hollywood if he had gone mainstream and he could also be making much more money than what he's making now. But that''s the thing I love about this guy. His main focus is making entertaining and great films. At least he's not a sellout...*cough*Nick Cage *cough*

Where can I buy threads like that?, and does anyone know where I can get some of Depps hair?

Mickey Rourke is way underrated.
Depp deserves a lifetime achievement Oscar, but will never receive an award of any sort so long as he continues to go by "Johnny". -
Dios Mio! Robert Rodriguez is back in full form! I love his movies set in Mexico, they have a real Sergio Leone ( Leon? ) feel. It just looks so hot and dusty down there.
Man...everybody's gonna want to be a Mexican when this movie comes out. -
Wasn't there an interview floating around circa "Spy Kids" that had him saying how proud he was that his film didn't have 1 gun in it and he wasn't going to do violent films anymore or something about his kids. (Sorry, I don't have the article handy at the moment). I sure hope I'm wrong. Oh yeah and JOHNNY DEPP F*CKING RULES!!!!

They are not going to make this too slick. The beauty of DESPERADO and EL MARIACHI were that both films had a really gritty, down to earth feel. It had these wild and fantastic things happening in very common looking locales with average looking people. Guys you could bump into if you turned down the wrong (right) road and stumbled into the wrong (right?) bar. Both Rourke and Depp look really friggin cool, and I just hope that aspects such as their look is not overemphasized in the film and overwhelms it.

It seems like just a few days ago I was reading on this site the he was lying in bed writing the screenplay to this movie. Man, this fucker shoots fast. Spy Kids is really the only one of his films that I've ever been 100% behind, so I hope that he is getting all these projects in one breath means greatness...or that he is getting just very good at what he does.

I'm lookin forward to this.

I just watched Desperado again the other day after having not seen it in quite a long time and it wasn't as good as I remembered or thought it was. It was still quite entertaining, but the best parts of the movie were the action sequences, Steve Buscemi, QT's monologue joke and Danny Trejo. Johnny Depp should be awesome in OUATIM, as he always is, and Mickey Rourke ... The other day I saw Buscemi's Animal Factory and didn't even realize Mickey Rourke was in it until the end credits. Might just be me, but I couldn't even tell it was him. Check that flick out for his unusual performance and some as-always solid stuff from Willem Dafoe. As for Rodriguez himself - he's technically pretty good but the few things he's written haven't really impressed me too much, though I did like his book Rebel Without a Crew. He seemed to have a lot of professional chemistry with Tarantino as a writer, and if they team up again it would be something great. I thought Rodriguez kind of ran out of gas for a while there (The Faculty?) but with the success of Spy Kids Rodriguez is a hot property again, and at the very least he offers up a light, entertaining ride better than most. And I agree with everyone else when I say that Depp kicks fucking ass. Why do people not recognize that he's practically the best actor of his generation? The man oozes range and versatility and adds class to every movie he's in, which is why I have faith that OUATIM will not disappoint. It has big shoes to fill just with that title alone - he's throwing a nod to Leone in a big way and that in itself sets up expectations that might not be fulfilled. Should be great if Salma Hayek plays her role mute.

Pot rules. Depp & Rodriguez know it. I know it. Just legalize the shit and let's just chill out and philosophize and eat and laugh and bugout and be happy. ----- "Edward Scissorhands" "Fear & Loathing" "Sleepy Hollow" "Nightmare on Elm Street" --All good movies to watch baked.

The last time I saw this about half the posts were deleted and people were banned...JOHNNY DEPP IS ALL THAT...and I don't think I'll get banned for saying what is so obvious, in this case. I have looked at these pictures and all I can say is...these are some of the coolest shots I've seen on this site. CGI can kiss my whatever...JD and MR are IT! I wanted to make fun of the little wasted taco bell dog, but hell, these pictures make me think even one of those shewawa's can be cool. I think it's been smoking Johnny's belt buckle...____A Bee wanting to be Johnny's belt buckle and more...

I knew he was destined for something cool, when I saw him the very first time!

I hate David Arquette, and he was awesome as hell in "Road Racers", I hate Mickey Rourke, but he looks damn ass shit hell cool in this. Rodruguez is damn good at making me not hate people. Although Scorsese made me not hate Iglesias Jr. in "Bringing out the Dead" this might make me actually like him a bit. Oh yeah, and that chihuaua, how can you go wrong after putting a chihuaua in Mickey Rourkes arms?
