ROBOCOP: Prime Directives Schedule

Published at:  Jul 12, 2001 2:43:09 PM CDT

Father Geek here with a Coax note that just arrived here at Geek Headquarters in Austin. I watched screeners of these several months ago so I know alot of you out there in Roboland are going to love them...

Hello I don't know if you know but The Scifi channel will be airing Robocop Prime Directives starting monday. Here is the schedule:

Robocop: Prime Directives Schedule

  • Part 1: "Dark Justice" – Monday, July 16, 9pm et/pt
  • Part 2: "Meltdown" – Tuesday, July 17, 9pm et/pt
  • Part 3: "Resurrection" – Wednesday, July 18, 9pm et/pt
  • Part 4: "Crash & Burn" – Thursday, July 19, 9pm et/pt

I remember coaxal doing a story back when it was first created, but havent seen anything since. The people behind it say it is more like Robocop 1, I find this hard to believe, but if it is good the more people that see it the better. Please at least post that it is being shown in the U.S. It was previously only available in Canada. Scifi.com has some more information on it.

Thanks,

I am rollergirl in talkback.

    If its not...

    by mcvamp

the same reruns that Sci Fi constantly shows, why not? Better TV Robocop than network blandness. Of course, I hope I don't recant 20 minutes into the first installment...

    WHOOO

Lookin' forward to it. Robocop 1 ruled, Robo 2 was pretty good, Robo 3 was utter ass, as was the first TV show. But I'm still jazzed about this one.

    it's actually really good

    by oneiros1

It's got a very "western" feel to it, which was the intent of the director. LOTS of gun battles. I saw it when it played up here in BC and liked it immensely.

    This is really weird...

...I saw these on DVD last time I was in Hong Kong. Didn't pick them up because I hadn't heard anything about them in a while and figured the series must have died due to suckage.

Hey, Montery Jack, About that DVD....

    by blok narpin

There is already a Criterion Collection Robocop DVD available. It's great. It's the unrated director's cut and it's packed with extras. Only downfall is it's not 16 x 9 enhanced. Other then that it's a NICE DVD. I'm sure the new one WILL be 16 x 9 enhanced, BUT will it have all the same extras?? I guess time will tell.

(By the way, while Robocop 2 and 3 were both weak I felt 3 was a much better film then 2. It seemed like they had some real good ideas, but not enough budget to completly execute them. With more work Robocop 3 could have been something special)

  • I own the super-cool 'Criterion Collection' DVD with all of it's original X-Rated glory. There's a few minutes of extra gore during the opening death scene with ED-209 and the unfortunate OCP executive Kenny ("Oh my God, they killed Kenny!"). Anyway, I hope this show is way better than the last television series based on our favorite cybernetic Dirty Harry. Remember he would never kill anyone... just blow off their belt buckles or shoot out the legs of a dresser so that it would conveniently fall on his targets. Man, that was a bad show.
